The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift November 26: B Squad

25-012333- 5000 BLK Newport Drive – Suspicious – A woman reported she is house-sitting at the above residence for the homeowner and wished to document a suspicious incident. She advised an older maroon Nissan SUV with no registration plates pulled in front of the residence. A tall, thin male exited the vehicle, pulled a hood over his head, and knocked on the door. After receiving no response, the male returned to the vehicle, backed to the opposite side of the house, and walked around the parked vehicles before leaving the area. She requested that the residence be placed on the watchlist until the homeowner returned.

25-012339- 3600 BLK Ringgold Rd- Theft – Management requested police response for a theft complaint. The suspect was an unidentified female appearing to be approximately in her 50’s with a younger male as her driver of a blue Nissan Rogue. The suspect was viewed on camera to take $895.68 worth of merchandise. A copy of the receipt with merchandise description was placed in property and evidence for further evaluation.

Night Shift November 26: D Squad

25-012350 – Springvale Road – Suspicious Vehicle – While on routine patrol, police observed two males occupying a vehicle at Springvale Park after dark. There was a case of beer in the back seat, and the passenger appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Both parties provided identification cards and were checked for warrants.

25-012355-1500 BLK Prigmore Road – Suspicious Activity/Arrest – Police observed a female walking down the road, stumbling. The officer stopped her and observed drug paraphernalia in her pocket. It was later found that the woman initially gave police her sister’s name. She was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Impersonation.

25-012359- 1500 BLK Prater Road- Domestic Assault –Police responded to a domestic disorder call. Police located a man who was intoxicated and belligerent, so he was detained. Officers spoke to his girlfriend who stated that he had scratched her, but she refused to press charges. Police explained to her the domestic violence law in Tennessee, and determined that the man was the primary aggressor, placed him under arrest, and transported him to Hamilton County Jail.

Day Shift November 27: B Squad

25-012368 – 3600 BLK Shirl Jo Lane – Domestic Assault – Police responded to this location for a domestic assault complaint. Upon investigation into the events surrounding this call, both a man and a woman were arrested for domestic assault. A DCS report will be filed as well due to the minor-aged children that were present at the time of the incident.

Night Shift November 27: D Squad

25-012376 – 5400 BLK Weaver Street – Disorder Prevention – The caller requested police presence to prevent a disorder after her sister reported to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office that a person had been kidnapped. Walker County advised that the reports of kidnapping were unsubstantiated. A party was taken into custody on Probationary Capias warrants in Criminal Court for Criminal Trespassing, Theft, and Reckless Endangerment.

25-012381 – 20 BLK Sheridan Rd – Burglary in progress – ERPD was dispatched to the above address for a burglary in progress. The neighbor advised that the house is supposed to be abandoned, and there are multiple lights and flashlights inside the residence that is on. ERPD arrived, and the owner of the residence was contacted via phone. The owner permitted ERPD to make force entry. Forced entry was made. ERPD had negative contact with anyone inside the residence. The house was cleared and had no signs of anyone living inside it. The door was secured before leaving the residence.

Night Shift November 28: C Squad

25-012400 – 1500 BLK Mack Smith Rd – Disorder / Arrest – The caller reported a white vehicle struck his truck and left the scene. He pursued the vehicle to this location. Police responded to the residence and quickly determined that the caller was intoxicated. Officers located the white suspect vehicle and determined the driver fled on foot prior to their arrival. Based on evidence at the scene, Police believed the fleeing driver was also intoxicated. The original caller was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

25-012405 – 1400 BLK North Smith Street – Follow-up Investigation / Arrest – Police searched the area of Mack Smith Road and Ringgold Road for a potential DUI suspect from an earlier disorder. During the search, a traffic investigator checked with hotel staff and found an individual matching the suspect’s description had recently checked in there. Police located the hotel guest and identified him as the registered owner of the vehicle from the disorder. The man was visibly intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Implied Consent.

Day Shift November 29: A Squad

No case number – 3500 BLK Navajo Drive – Suspicious activity – Police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Navajo Drive after a passer-by reported seeing a male walking down the street holding what they believed was a firearm. Police checked the area but were unable to locate a male matching the description.

25-012419 – 400 BLK McBrien Road – Indecent Exposure – Police were dispatched in reference to a report of a male suspect exposing himself to a minor. Officers contacted the victim who reported that the suspect parked in front of the vehicle she was sitting in, opened the door, and began to fondle himself while looking at her. The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect and his vehicle, however security footage from the business and the surrounding businesses did not capture the incident. A possible suspect vehicle was observed approaching the area of the incident and was identified as a black Honda Accord, but no registration can be seen.

Night Shift November 29: C Squad

25-012424 – 4300 BLK Bennett Road – Disorder Prevention – Police responded for a Disorder Prevention based on the request of an off-duty police officer. The Booster Club was hosting a little league football tournament, and two parents of a visiting team were told to leave after yelling obscenities at the referees. The parents continued to argue with tournament officials until the off-duty police officer intervened. Additional police officers responded to the location and remained on scene until the end of the game. No other issues were reported.

25-012429 – 1500 BLK Fruitland Drive – Domestic Disorder – Police responded to an assault in progress involving two men. Upon arrival, officers observed no active fight and received conflicting stories for the incident. Police Officers also determined that one man had a Temporary Order of Protection, and he violated it by consuming a large quantity of alcohol. He was taken into custody and charged with Violation of a Protection Order. The protected party for the TPO was not involved in the disorder.

25-012434 – 3600 BLK Shirl Jo Lane – Domestic Assault – A resident reported her landlord had been assaulted and he had visible injuries. Police officers met with the man and observed a black eye along with wounds on his head. Upon further investigation, Police officers determined that his boyfriend was heavily intoxicated and had struck the victim in the head during an argument. He was taken into custody for Domestic Assault and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Night Shift November 30: C Squad

25-012450 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – A caller reported $360 was stolen from him outside the market. He had agreed to meet with a private seller to purchase Air Pods for forty dollars. He met the seller and set up a transaction for $40 through Apple Pay. During the transaction, the unnamed suspect changed the amount to $400. The charge went through, and the suspect ran off before the man realized what happened. The incident is still under investigation.

25-012455 – 900 BLK South Seminole Drive – Stolen Vehicle Recovery / Arrest – A man reported that his stolen Chevrolet truck was at the apartments. He had received a Facebook tip for the location after he reported the vehicle stolen in Ringgold, GA. East Ridge police responded to the location and secured the stolen truck. Police then contacted the Ringgold Police Department and were advised that a named party was a suspect in the theft. While on scene, police located the suspect in the parking lot and found he had knowledge of the vehicle. He was arrested, transported to the Hamilton County Jail, and charged with Theft of Property over $10,000. Ringgold PD was updated on the incident.

25-012464 – 5000 BLK South Terrace – Suspicious Person – East Ridge and Chattanooga Police officers responded to the report of a scruffy male carrying a rifle near the Theater. An East Ridge Police Officer located the suspicious person near the furniture store. Police quickly determined the man was carrying a closed umbrella and did not have a firearm on him.

Day Shift December 1: B Squad

25-012472- 6600 BLK Hilton Drive- Domestic Assault/ Arrest – Following an altercation with his parents, a juvenile was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

Night Shift December 1: D Squad

25-012481 – 5300 BLK Clemons Road – Domestic Assault – A man was taken into custody on a warrant out of East Ridge for Aggravated Domestic Assault. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-012484 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Vehicle – While performing routine patrol, a suspicious vehicle was observed behind the hotel bearing a South Carolina tag. Police identified the male driver as a party who recently moved to Tennessee. He cooperated for a field interview and was educated about TN marijuana laws.
