Law and Order Feb. 26

Day Shift February 25: B Squad

26-001708 – 1200 BLK San Hsi Drive – Suspicious Activity/ Joyriding – On 02/25 at approximately 0910 hours, officers responded to San Hsi Drive regarding suspicious activity. The complainant reported that her 2023 Nissan Kicks was totaled and found parked in her backyard. She stated she had last left the vehicle in her driveway and is the only authorized driver, but advised her boyfriend had access to it. The vehicle’s license plate matched a white Nissan Kicks involved in a reported hit-and-run. Upon contact, the boyfriend displayed visible injuries and signs of impairment. After being advised of his Miranda rights, he initially denied using the vehicle. The crash investigation unit responded to the scene and confirmed the vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run. After being advised of his rights again, the man admitted driving the vehicle and leaving the scene of the crash. The owner stated she wished to press charges for joyriding. Warrants are being sought.

26-001711 – 20 Interstate 75 NB – Citizen Assist – Police were dispatched to the area at the request of TDOT due to a truck unable to pass under the Ringgold Road underpass. The truck was hauling a jet engine that was found to be too large to fit. East Ridge Police, alongside TDOT, successfully backed the semi down the interstate and sent it along its way.

Night Shift February 25 : A Squad

26-001721 – 1500 BLK Mack Smith Road – Missing Juveniles / Found – Police Officers responded to the above address after a mother reported two juveniles were missing from her home. Mom informed Police that the juveniles had returned home just prior to their arrival. Upon further investigation, ERPD found the children had gone outside without permission to chase after a loose dog.

26-001726 – 5300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Assist EMS / Narcotics Violation – Police Officers, Fire Department Personnel, and EMS responded to the report of a female cutting herself at this residence. On scene, Police located an injured female inside the residence and assisted medical personnel in moving her to an ambulance. Inside the home, Police observed several items of drug paraphernalia. A man was identified as the resident of the home, and he consented to a search of the dwelling. Police Officers located several more items of paraphernalia. All contraband was seized and placed in the ERPD Evidence Room for destruction.

26-001730 – 900 BLK South Seminole Drive – Suspicious Activity – A concerned citizen reported an older model truck with several light bars was driving slowly through the area. The citizen was concerned that the vehicle was looking for automobiles to steal or burglarize. Police checked the area, but the suspicious vehicle left prior to their arrival.

26-001732 – 3600 BLK Helen Lane, Apt A – Arrest for Other Agency – Police responded to this residence and located an individual with active warrants through the Hamilton County Sessions Court for Vandalism and Violation of Conditions of Release. He was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail without issue.

26-001733 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity / Arrest for Other Agency – Police Officers responded to the report of several intoxicated males in a vehicle in the parking lot. Police located the vehicle and checked the passengers. One of the vehicle occupants was found to have an active arrest warrant through the Hamilton County Sessions Court. The original charge was for Escape. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail. A sober driver was found in the group who took control of the vehicle.

26-001735 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served with a Petition to Revoke for Probationer warrant through City of East Ridge. The original charge for the arrest warrant was Possession of Schedule II.
