Day Shift May 7: A Squad
26-004188 – 700 BLK Summit Avenue – Residential Fire – Police responded to the duplex on a reported fire. Upon arrival, thick black smoke could be seen billowing out of the roof attic vent. Tenants advised they were all accounted for. ERPD breached a unit and found it to be unoccupied. ERFD breached another apartment and found it unoccupied.
Night Shift May 7: C Squad
26-004215 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – During a routine patrol, an officer observed a juvenile riding a bicycle at approximately 3AM. The juvenile was alone and riding the bicycle in a gas station parking lot. The officer approached the juvenile and found he had left his grandmother’s home in Georgia to go for a bike ride. Officers contacted the juvenile’s mother, who was unaware that he had left the grandmother’s house. The mother responded and took custody.
Day Shift May 8: B Squad
26-004216-1000 BLK John Ross Road – Assault in Progress – Police responded on a report of two female parties actively fighting. Both subjects stated that they were approached first and that the other party was the primary aggressor. Police reviewed video footage and determined that both parties exited their vehicles during the road rage incident and engaged in a mutual physical altercation. Neither party wished to pursue charges. Both were checked by EMS.
26-004230 – 600 BLK Marlboro Avenue – Domestic Disorder – A concerned citizen reported a female with red hair and wearing all red was in the roadway yelling at a man in blue vehicle. On scene, police located the subject with blood and bruising on her arm. She claimed she and her ex-husband were in a verbal altercation regarding the custody of her Shih Tzu before he left with the dog. A witness at the scene reported hearing sounds of a possible altercation and assault, however, the woman claimed nothing happened to cause her wounds and refused to cooperate for prosecution. The other party had left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
26-004231 – 1400 BLK Saint Thomas Street – Domestic Disorder/Well-being Check – A concerned citizen reported hearing a verbal disorder emanating from a motel room. Officers located a woman in a white Dodge Durango, who reported a verbal altercation between her and her child’s father. She alleged the man was possibly experiencing some kind of mental frustration and was extremely agitated, resulting in him screaming at her in front of their small children. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
Night Shift May 8: D Squad
26-004238-3700 BLK Fountain Avenue-Motor Vehicle Theft – Police spoke with the reporting party regarding the theft of her wallet from her vehicle. She reported that her wallet was taken between May 3 and May 8. The reporting party noticed that there were attempted transactions made by the suspects, two of which involved Cash App transfers.
26-004239 – 800 BLK Poindexter Avenue – Fight – A resident at home reported hearing sounds of fighting, including women’s screams coming from next door. Police investigated the disturbance and determined the source of the noise was children playing cornhole.
26-004242 – 1500 BLK Cora Drive – Domestic Assault – A man was arrested for aggravated domestic assault after attempting to cut his father with a kitchen knife.
Day Shift May 9: B Squad
26-004251/26-004253- 900 BLK Donaldson- Vandalism/Theft – The residents reported their tires being slashed. The owner advised he believed his ex-girlfriend was the suspect. He provided police with ring footage which showed an unknown suspect with a mask, blue gloves and wearing all black, approaching the camera and taking it off the door. Shortly after, police observed what sounded like tires being popped. While on scene, the owner wished to report the theft of her Ring doorbell camera. The investigation is on-going.
26-004259-4100 BLK Ringgold Road-Disorder Weapon Involved – Police responded on a report that a male suspect had stolen the reporting party’s cell phone and threatened him with a firearm. All parties that were involved were gone upon arrival.
Night Shift May 9: D Squad
26-004270 – 2100 BLK Dugan Street – Domestic Disorder – The resident reported that her ex-boyfriend was knocking on her front door and requested that he be trespassed from the property. The male had left the area before police arrival.
Day Shift May 10: B Squad
26-004274- 900 BLK Yale Street- Public Intoxication – Police responded to the area following a second complaint regarding a female acting erratically. Officers identified the female, who appeared to be experiencing the effects of narcotic use. The woman failed to return home as instructed following the initial interaction and was subsequently arrested for public intoxication after being observed on her hands and knees in the middle of the roadway.
Night Shift May 10: D Squad
26-004282 – 10 BLK Crescent Park – Suspicious Person – A resident of Ridgeside reported a homeless man sleeping in the park with his dogs. Police explained to the party that he and his dogs were trespassing on private property. ERPD did provided a courtesy ride to a nearby homeless outreach for the man and his pets.
26-004285-1500 John Ross Rd-MVC Injuries/DUI – While patrolling the area, police discovered a black sedan that had crashed into a ditch. The driver exhibited clear signs of intoxication. He was taken to for further medical evaluation. Police swore warrants for driving under the influence, driving without a license, violating the open container law, and failure to exercise due care.
26-004291 – 5500 BLK Ringgold Road – SIA – Police contacted a pedestrian after witnessing her nearly being struck by a vehicle while walking in traffic on Ringgold Road. She stated she was attempting to walk to the Chattanooga Rescue Mission and had stopped taking her medication for schizophrenia. Due to concerns for her safety, officers placed her in protective custody and transported her for evaluation.
Day Shift May 11: A Squad
26-004305- 3700 BLK Larry Lane- Noise Complaint – Police responded to this address at the request of a perturbed neighbor. On scene, patrol observed concert levels of rock emitting from a large, expensive, speaker. Police spoke with the owner who stated he would turn his music down a few decibels out of respect for his neighbors.
26-004310 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Harassment – The caller wished to report that her ex-boyfriend put a tracking device on her car. She believed this due to him showing up at the Tiftonia Welcome Center while she was driving to East Ridge. Officers searched her car, but nothing was located. The Chattanooga Police Department was contacted for a report.
Night Shift May 11: C Squad
26-004316 – 6800 BLK Village Lake Circle – Theft from a Vehicle – The caller reported that an unknown suspect removed a gym bag from his vehicle on the evening of May 8. He stated the bag contained several Mother’s Day gifts and a pair of Beats earbuds. The missing bag and several gifts were recovered in different areas of the neighborhood, but the ear buds were not found. Neighbors have reported seeing suspicious individuals entering their gated community through wooded areas by the pond. ERPD patrols in the area.
26-004322 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Automobile Theft – Police officers responded to the report of an automobile theft at the gas station. The owner stated that she and her ex-boyfriend had an altercation earlier in the evening at her apartment in Chattanooga. They had left the apartment but argued as they drove her vehicle through the area. The man became extremely hostile and struck her on the head several times with his hand. The couple then stopped in East Ridge. He then threatened her with a ball-peen hammer and demanded she get out of the car. She fled the vehicle and he quickly drove away. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Catoosa County. Arrest warrants were filed for Aggravated Domestic Assault and Carjacking.
26-004324 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Citizen Assist – Police officers responded to a request for assistance from a local resident. The patient was an elderly male who had just been released from the hospital and had no way of getting home. Police assisted the man in securing a ride to his residence.
