Day Shift May 15: A Squad

26-004472- 700 BLK Germantown Circle- Warrant Service – Police served a warrant for false reports.

26-004464 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road- Deceptive Practice – The reporting party stated that a subject used a counterfeit one-hundred-dollar bill to purchase boots at the business. Video footage showed the cashier accepting the bill after it was checked with a counterfeit detection pen. Upon examination, the bill was found to contain the words “For Motion Picture Purposes” on both sides. The representative identified the subject and stated that the business only wanted reimbursement for the purchase. Police contacted the man who stated he had unknowingly used the bill after finding it on the floor at work and placing it in his wallet without examining it. He later reimbursed the business for the purchase. Based on the investigation, no criminal intent was established, and the business declined to pursue criminal simulation charges.

26-004466 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Vandalism – Police spoke to the reporting party who reported that someone spray-painted vulgar words on a wall near the main entrance. He provided a photograph of the vandalism and stated neither he nor the pastor knew who may have been responsible. Security cameras inside the building did not capture the suspect. The estimated cost to repaint the wall was approximately $1,000. At this time, no suspects have been identified, and the school is conducting an internal investigation.

26-004474 – 3500 BLK Claremont Avenue – Deceptive Practice – A caller stated she was scammed out of money by a suspect who claimed she had missed jury duty in Michigan. The caller demanded that $3,000 dollars be sent via Bitcoin, but the victim was only able to send a portion. The victim was able to provide information about the Bitcoin deposit.

Night Shift May 15: C Squad

26-004481 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft from a Business – An employee at the dispensary reported that a male came into the store, grabbed several items, and ran outside without paying. In the parking lot, the suspect entered a gray SUV and fled the area. A witness in the store and video evidence both corroborated the information provided by the employee. Warrants are pending the identification of the male suspect.

26-004492 – 4000 BLK Bennett Road – Shots Fired / Suspicious Activity – A resident reported hearing four gun shots around Bennett Road and Greenslake Road. Police responded to the location and checked the surrounding area. Patrol located another resident sitting outside his home who claimed that he did not hear anything resembling gunshots. After checking the area, ERPD found no damage, injuries or other evidence of gunfire.

26-004495 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Overdose – A gray Hyundai pulled into the East Ridge Police Department parking lot with an adult female overdosing on fentanyl. The driver of the vehicle stated that she found the woman unconscious and thought she was possibly overdosing. She then immediately drove to the station for assistance. Police administered Narcan and firefighters tracked the female’s status until Hamilton County EMS arrived on scene. The patient eventually regained consciousness and was treated on scene by EMS personnel.

Day Shift May 16: A Squad

26-004507 – 5300 BLK Clemons Road – Auto Theft – Police were called to report an auto theft. The owner said he parked his vehicle at the church and was out stumping for approximately 90 minutes. When he returned his 2008 Buick Lucerne was gone. The man was given a courtesy ride to a residence in Highland Park.

26-003595- 700 BLK Marley Way – Warrants Service – Police executed an outstanding warrant for Theft of Property (Auto Theft). The female suspect was transported to Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

Night Shift May 16: C Squad

26-004517 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road– Domestic Assault / Arrest – Police Officers responded to a disorder with a weapon at this address. During the on-scene investigation, patrol determined that a domestic assault occurred at the same location. Police found evidence that showed a man had assaulted his girlfriend outside the residence. ERPD located him inside the home and placed him in custody for the Domestic Assault.

26-004524 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road– Disorder with a Weapon – Police Officers responded to the report of multiple people with firearms threatening an adult male and two other teenagers. ERPD found there were a total of four suspects who fled the scene prior to their arrival. Police located two of the suspects in a black SUV on Ringgold Road and briefly detained them following a traffic stop. The other two suspects were seen running into a nearby wooded area. Police established a perimeter and a Chattanooga Police Department K9 was deployed to search for the suspects. The K9 picked up a good track but the suspects were not located. Officers determined the subjects ran along a fence line prior to the establishment of the perimeter to escape the area. At the end of the investigation, Police determined the identity of each perpetrator and the appropriate charges for each person. Felony arrest warrants are being sought for all four suspects.

26-004520 – 1100 BLK Altamaha Street – Suspicious Activity / Arrest – Police Officers responded to the report of gunshots in the area between Altamaha Street and McBrien Road. Police did not locate any evidence of gun shots. During the same timeframe, officers observed a male stumbling on the road and found he did not respond to verbal commands. Upon further investigation, it was found that the man was heavily intoxicated and could not produce any identification or home address. He was placed in custody for Public Intoxication. At the Hamilton County Jail, the subject was identified.

Day Shift May 17: A Squad

26-004534- 3500 BLK Pinellas Lane- Suspicious Vehicle – Police were dispatched to this address after a resident reported a white dodge ram was blocking her neighbor’s driveway. Dispatched advised the vehicle was showing as stolen. The vehicle left the area before police arrived on scene. Patrol investigated the matter further and located a potential address the stolen vehicle could be at. While canvasing the area, an investigator with the Somerville Sheriff’s Office called the primary officer. The Investigator informed police that Rossville PD had the vehicle stopped in their jurisdiction.

26-004528 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Animal Bite – ERPD responded to a reported animal bite. ERFD and HCEMS were treating a child who was bit on the face by a dog while visiting the motel. The boy and his mother were transported for further treatment. ERAS spoke to the dog’s owner over the phone who requested control and custody of the animal to be given to her boyfriend who was on scene at the lodging. ERAS advised the owner that the dog needed to be quarantined.

26-004542 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road- Theft – The caller reported her father’s ashes missing from her motel room. She suspected housekeeping took them after she complained on them. The housekeeper was unavailable at the time the report was taken to gather his side of the story, but he will be contacted at a later date.

Night Shift May 17: C Squad

26-004554 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Disorder – The hotel manager reported a verbal disorder with an older male guest and requested his removal from the property. The manager stated there were several complaints about the behavior of the man and the high volume of his hotel room television. The manager confronted the man who then became irate and verbally abusive. Police went to the room and found that the male quest had already left the hotel with all his belongings.

26-004558 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served with a Petition to Revoke for Probationer warrant through the City of East Ridge. The original charge for the arrest warrant was Possession of a Controlled Substance.

26-004559 – 1600 BLK McBrien Road – Disorder / Mentally Disturbed – Police responded to a domestic disorder involving a woman and her adult grandson. She reported that he was demonstrating odd behavior and she was concerned about his well-being. A Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer responded to the scene along with two other officers. The CIT officer spoke with the man. EMS respond to the location due to unusual ideations experienced by the subject. EMS evaluated the patient and transported him to a local hospital for additional care.

26-004562 –700 BLK South Sanctuary Road – Assist Other Agency – Police Officers received a BOLO for a white Honda Ridgeline that was driving erratically on I-75 Southbound. A Hamilton County Deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after the vehicle failed to maintain its lane. East Ridge Police Officers were in the area and responded as back-up for the traffic stop. Following a roadside investigation, the Deputy arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence.

Day Shift May 18: B Squad

26-004565 – 1400 BLK Mack Smith Road – Suspicious Activity – While conducting early morning patrol, police encountered four homeless individuals in various stages of rest, parked in the northernmost parking stalls at the end of the parking lot. All parties’ information was verified, and they were advised that homeless camps were prohibited in the city limits.

26-004576- 3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Traffic Stop/ Arrest – Following a traffic stop, a man was taken into custody on four outstanding Red Bank warrants. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

Night Shift May 18: D Squad

26-004586 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A woman was taken into custody in Whitfield County, GA, for multiple warrants out of East Ridge, including Possession of Narcotics, Drug Paraphernalia, False Identity, and Criminal Impersonation. She was being held for extradition at the Whitfield County Jail.

26-004590 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder / Arrest – A man called in to report his car was showing a GPS location at the hotel. Upon arrival, another male stated that the caller had been stalking his girlfriend for a while. He further stated he drove the vehicle to prove that the man was tracking it. The vehicle registration was checked through dispatch, and it was in both parties’ names. The woman left work in Georgia and arrived on the scene. She showed ERPD evidence that her vehicle was being tracked. ERPD asked the caller how he was tracking the car, and he stated that he was using the Honda Link App. It was found that he was lying, and the man admitted to attaching a tracking device to the frame of the car around four months ago. The suspect was taken into custody for electronic tracking of motor vehicles without consent and transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident. Stalking charges are pending upon review of the case.
