Law and Order November 4

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift October 31: A Squad

25-011465 – 4300 BLK Spriggs Street – Attempted Burglary – The reporting party informed police that two doors at the rear of his home appeared to have been tampered with, suggesting an attempted break-in. Officers took photographs of the doorknobs and contacted the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). There are no known suspects currently.

25-011463 – 3200 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – The victim reported that an unknown individual stole his debit card while he was working. The card was then used at numerous locations in Chattanooga. Pending identification of the suspect, the owner will prosecute for the initial theft.

Night Shift October 31: C Squad

25-011490 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue– Disorder / Mentally Disturbed – Police Officers responded to the report of a disorder at this location. A neighbor stated he heard a male repeatedly yelling “Get out!” in a nearby apartment. Upon arrival, Police located the man and quickly determined he was having a mental crisis. The individual was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. The individual was admitted to the hospital under an emergency mental health hold.

25-011497 – 3300 BLK Ringgold Rd – Traffic Stop / Arrest – While on patrol, a police officer observed a black Toyota Tacoma cross the center line and move toward a head on collision with another vehicle. The police vehicle and the civilian vehicle maneuvered out of the way, and a traffic stop was initiated with the Tacoma. The Tacoma driver was identified and was observed to have several signs of intoxication. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Without a License, Open Container Law, and Reckless Endangerment.

Day Shift November 1: A Squad

Focused Traffic Enforcement in the 6400 block of Ringgold Road to Mack Smith to curb drivers utilizing the bike lane as a turning lane. Police made 59 traffic stops and issued multiple citations along with educating the public on bike lane etiquette.

25-011509- 6600 BLK Ringgold Rd.- Public Intoxication – Police were dispatched on reports of an intoxicated male soliciting drivers. Officers observed the suspect’s eyes to red and glossy, and he was emitting a strong odor of intoxicant. The subject admitted to drinking and was taken into custody and transported without incident.

Night Shift November 1: C Squad

25-011520 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Disorder – Police responded to a disorder in the Emergency Room of the Parkridge East Hospital. Police found that a man made several threats to harm the staff after he was brought to the hospital by ambulance. The subject was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. ERPD transported him to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

25-011523 – 400 BLK Broughton Street – Suspicious Activity – An anonymous person advised there was a black Lincoln sedan at this residence and the occupants were selling drugs. Police Officers responded to the location and conducted an extensive search for the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate any vehicle matching that description. The information will be forwarded to the Crime Suppression Unit.

25-011525 – 500 BLK Sharondale Avenue – Suspicious Vehicle – A homeowner reported a suspicious vehicle parked near his residence. Utilizing a security camera system, the homeowner determined the vehicle was sitting near the driveway with the lights off. The vehicle left the area before the arrival of police, but the homeowner was still concerned about unknown activities. The residence was added to the Watch List, and police advised the homeowner to call if the vehicle returns.

25-011531 – 4700 BLK Brainerd Road, Chattanooga – Attempted Burglary / Assist Other Agency – The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) requested assistance with a suspicious activity complaint at this location. East Ridge Police Officers responded and found the glass broken out of the front door of the convenience store. CPD Officers reviewed the security cameras and determined a male on a green bicycle broke the glass with a rock. Based on the camera evidence, the suspect could not unlock the door, and he left the area. The suspect has not been identified.

25-011534 – 200 BLK East View Drive, Chattanooga – Suspicious Activity / Assist Other Agency – The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) requested assistance with a suspicious activity complaint outside this residence. East Ridge police officers responded and located an unoccupied black SUV partially parked in the roadway. While checking the vehicle, two males emerged from a nearby wooded area. The two males stated they were “looking for a good view of the city lights.” The parties were checked for warrants and sent on their way.

25-011535 – 4000 BLK North Terrace, Chattanooga – Unconscious Person / Assist Other Agency – East Ridge and Chattanooga Police Officers responded to the report of an unconscious person in a black Volkswagen on the North Terrace area. Police located the vehicle and found the driver slumped over the wheel. Chattanooga police officers took over the investigation and provided the female with a courtesy ride to her home.

25-011527 –5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Driving Under the Influence / Arrest – A woman approached police officers in her Honda Civic while crying. She stated she ran over an object in the road and was assaulted by a person who got out to help her. Police believed that she was intoxicated on an illegal narcotic based on her body movements. Upon completion of the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, the woman was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.

25-011526 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Narcotics Violation / Arrest – While in custody for DUI (same lady, above) police determined that a woman had Suboxone concealed on her person and it was packaged for resale. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with Illegal Possession of Schedule III Drugs.

Day Shift November 2: A Squad

25-011550 – 500 Blk Sharondale Road – Suspicious Activity – Police spoke with a man at this home regarding a previous lawn equipment theft and an uptick in the frequency of suspicious vehicles appearing to case the residence. Police observed ring video of a vehicle stopping at the driveway with its lights off momentarily. Officers advised to add motion lights to compliment the security cameras already installed. The residence was added to the watchlist.

25-011548 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – Police were dispatched on reports of a theft. An employee advised a man had taken a soft drink without paying. The subject commenced to consuming the beverage and ran out of the store. Police spoke with the party and advised him why it was wrong to take a soft drink without paying. The suspect, who suffers from autism, apologized to the manager. The manager declined prosecution and just wanted officers to speak with the party.

Night Shift November 2: C Squad

25-011553 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – Units responded regarding a female suspect who stole approximately $100 in merchandise. Employees were able to identify the suspect, as she had collected a prescription from the pharmacy and gave identifying information to the pharmacy technician. Officers located a photo of the subject, which both employees identified as the suspect. A warrant for Theft of Property (Shoplifting) has been issued.

25-011538 – 1400 BLK South Moore Road- Harassment – A man stated another male was upset about a car issue and threatened him. He was advised that the vehicle issue would be a civil matter. The caller was also unable to state any threats that had been made.

Day Shift November 3: B Squad

25-011571-100 BLK Douglas Drive-Unconscious/Traumatic Injury – Police were dispatched to the listed address for a male party unresponsive in the driveway with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police rendered aid until EMS took over treatment and transported the individual. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the male party had sustained the head injury from a fall, not a gunshot wound. The firearm was placed into property and evidence for safekeeping, report on file.

25-011587- 3300 BLK Castle Ave- Burglary Attempt – Police responded to this location after the RP had seen damage to a window for the detached garage. The RP advised her husband would replace the window himself due to the minimal damage and requested additional patrol throughout the remainder of the shift.

Night Shift November 3: D Squad

25-011592 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Broken Down Auto – Police provided traffic control for a motorist whose vehicle had broken down in the roadway. AAA provided a tow truck and removed the vehicle.

25-011600- 4214 Ringgold Road- Warrant Service – The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and requested verification of two ERPD Warrants. ERPD requested a hold for two arrest warrants, Fraud and Criminal Impersonation. The subject is currently held in the Catoosa County Jail awaiting extradition.
