Pioneers Down Howard, 5-0, in Boys Soccer

The East Ridge soccer team evened its record at 1-1 on the young season with a 5-0 blanking of Howard on the Tigers home field, Thursday.

Adam Adem led the way for the Pioneers with two goals. Alejandro Vicente, Jarwin Vasquez and Rijad Kazic accounted for the rest of the scoring, in which the Pioneers took a 2-0 lead at the half. Coy Vandergriff was credited with an assist.

Goalkeeper Tony Acuff had three saves in recording the shutout in East Ridge’s first District 6 A/AA win.

East Ridge will travel to take on CSAS on March 21 before its home opener with district foe Hixson at Camp Jordan on March 24.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
