Police Briefs for Sept. 22

The following information was compiled from “pass along reports” supplied by the administration of the ERPD.

Sept. 20 Day Shift

4214 Ringgold Road (warrant service):

William Richardson turned himself in on an East Ridge warrant for driving on suspended. (21-013643)

4338 Ringgold Road (theft from vehicle):

The complainant reported the theft of a catalytic converter after her mother’s vehicle was left in the parking lot of Food Lion from 11:30 to 18:00 on Friday afternoon. (21-013635)

201 Eads Street (mental health):

A male subject was transported to Parkridge East by police after having a mental health episode at his apartment with his girlfriend and infant child. (21-013640)

Night Shift

6600 Ringgold Rd (DUI 21-013663):

Lindsay Barber was taken into custody for DUI, open container law violation and light law violation. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail at Silverdale.

4214 Ringgold Rd (Arrest 21-013668):

Joshua Green was taken into custody on East Ridge warrants and transported to the Hamilton County Jail at Silverdale.

1518 Swope Dr (Property Damage 21-013670):

The reporting party stated someone damaged his vehicle. Police observed a tire and window had been vandalized.

Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
