Seven Pioneers Named All-Region

Seven East Ridge football players have been named to the All Region 3/A team.

Traneil Moore was named Running back of the Year and Braxton Moffett was honored for his academic accomplishments.

Other Pioneers joining the pair are: Will Mercer, Deondre Chambliss, Darian Smith, Alonzo Russell and Lorenzo Stewart.

The Pioneers, under first-year coach Tim James, finished 7-6 on the year and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the TSSAA Football Tournament before losing in overtime to Sequatchie County, 21-14.

Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
