The East Ridge Industrial Development Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19 at City Hall has been postponed, officials said Wednesday.
The board meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. at City Hall on Tombras Avenue. The board will also hold a public meeting at the newly rescheduled date.
The IDB and public meetings concern a proposed Economic Impact Plan for a professional stadium and mixed-use development area near Interstate-75 that will be submitted to the Hamilton County Commission and to the East Ridge City Council. A public hearing will also be held relative to the plan.
If such a plan is approved by the County Commission and the City Council, certain incremental tax revenues from the area that is subject of the plan would be made available to the IDB to promote economic development and/or pay eligible project costs and debt service on bonds to pay for the public improvements.
The area that would be subject to the plan is generally an area surrounding and including the proposed stadium and proposed mixed-use commercial retail development located at the northern part of Mack Smith Road at the Exit 1 interchange of I-75, and other properties that will directly benefit from the development including properties on McCall Road, Ringgold Road, Mack Smith Road and North Mack Smith Road.
A map of the area that would be subject to the plan and which identifies the parcels of property within the plan area may be viewed by the public at City Hall.
