It is with great sadness the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office announces the unexpected passing of Patrol Lieutenant Mark Kimsey.

Lt. Kimsey passed away earlier this afternoon at a local hospital.

He was a 32-year veteran of the HCSO and had a long and distinguished career in local law enforcement in Hamilton County. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Kimsey served as a police officer with the Red Bank Police Department.

Lt. Kimsey served with honor and distinction in numerous divisions within the HCSO throughout his career including the Traffic Division where he served as a Traffic Investigator and Motor Officer, Narcotics Division, and the Patrol Division.

Please keep Lt. Kimsey’s family and friends as well as the men and women of the HCSO in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
