On Monday at around 10 p.m., a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on US-27 North and activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop.

The pursuit was terminated after visual of the bike was lost; however, a short time later it was spotted by an HCSO Sergeant and an HCSO traffic investigator at the ramp from Highway 153 onto Shepherd Road, where they successfully stopped the suspect and took him into custody.

The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, and the bike was registered to the suspect’s father. Upon inspection of the bike, it was found that the suspect had covered the entire license plate with black tape.

The suspect is being charged with Felony Evading Arrests, Speeding, Reckless Driving, and Improper Display of Tag.
