Law and Order September 16

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift September 12: B Squad

25-009647- 4000 BLK Ealy Road- Property Damage – Police were dispatched to make a report of multiple dogs damaging a vehicle at this address. Officers were provided with video footage that showed multiple dogs attacking the vehicle and destroying the front bumper.

25-009654 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Rd – BOLO/Traffic Stop – Police located a vehicle matching a BOLO from Catoosa County at the above address. Three occupants were identified. Fort Oglethorpe Police Department responded and interviewed the subjects regarding an aggravated assault that occurred in Rossville. One subject was positively identified as the suspect and taken into custody for aggravated assault. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail by ERPD. While being placed in the patrol unit, the man head-butted the side of the vehicle, causing a dent, and kicked the window from inside the unit. He was additionally charged with vandalism.

25-009660-100 BLK Fawn Drive- Disorder/Arrest – A man was taken into custody on an outstanding forfeiture capias warrant for criminal trespassing after returning to the listed address to ask his family for money. He was transported to jail without issue.

Night Shift September 12: D Squad 

25-009666 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service – A man was taken into custody at the East Ridge Police Department on three (3) Forfeiture Capias warrants for DUI, Implied Consent, and Driving on Revoked for DUI. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-009668 – 1600 BLK Key West Avenue – Intoxicated Person- A male subject was arrested for Public Intoxication after threatening residents on Key West Avenue and falsely claiming to live at the home. He was also charged with Resisting Arrest after refusing to cooperate while being frisked for weapons.

25-009669-3700 BLK Ringgold Rd- Unconscious/ Drug arrest – Officers were dispatched to the address above regarding a party that had passed out in his car for about an hour. The party appeared sluggish, slow, and unable to stay conscious. Following a consent to search of the car, officers located Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Heroin, Xanax, and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with Possession of Meth, possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Heroin, Public intoxication, and Possession of Xanax.

25-009677- 4214 Ringgold Road- Warrant Service – ERPD served an arrest warrant on a woman for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop by CPD. CPD transported her to Hamilton County Jail.

Day Shift September 13: B Squad

25-009700- 4124 Ringgold Road- Warrant Service – The Chattanooga Police Department conducted a traffic stop at Shallowford and North Moore. The driver was identified and had active warrants out of East Ridge for Possession of a Firearm During a Dangerous Felony, Marijuana for Resale, and Possession of Drug paraphernalia. CPD requested East Ridge transport. Police met CPD and transported the man to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-009689-3400 BLK Gail Drive-Domestic Disorder/Arrest – Police responded to the listed address for a domestic disorder in which a woman stated her boyfriend had assaulted her and poured bleach on her face and in her eyes before fleeing the scene. East Ridge and Chattanooga Police were able to locate the suspect at his residence on Hillsdale Drive in Chattanooga. Units on scene established a perimeter and the party was taken into custody for aggravated domestic after he voluntarily exited the residence. He was transported to jail without issue.

Night Shift September 13: D Squad

25-009709 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue – Unknown 911 – Police investigated a 911 call where dispatch heard people speaking Spanish in the background. The call seemed to come from an area in the vicinity of the apartments. No signs of distress were located when officers checked the area.

Day Shift September 14: B Squad

25-009717- 1100 BLK McBrien Road- Child Found/Arrest – Police were called by a passerby who reported that one child was in the roadway, and another was in the driveway of the residence above, unattended. The passerby then stated that the front door of the residence was also ajar, and no one was answering any knocks or responding to the passerby’s yelling. Police then arrived on the scene and found that the neighbor had taken the children back inside and did not know where the mother of the children was. Police were finally able to contact the mother, who stated she had just gone to the gym and would be back home in the next 15 minutes. Almost 1 hour and 15 minutes later, the mother arrived and was taken into custody for two felony counts of Child Endangerment.

25-009730- 4300 BLK Ringgold Road- Child Found/ Arrest – Police were dispatched to the business complex in reference to a male leaving two young children in a vehicle with the engine turned off and the windows up. Police contacted the man who stated he was babysitting a friend’s kids and went inside to Door Dash and thought he had left the car running for the children. After reviewing footage, it was discovered that he had left the children in the vehicle with no AC or the windows down for approximately 25 minutes. Based on his disregard for the children’s safety, he was charged with two felony counts of Child Endangerment and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

Night Shift September 14: D Squad

25-009742 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Rd – Animal Cruelty – Police were notified of a dog locked in a car at business. Upon investigation, officers observed a female boxer in the back seat of a blue Nissan that appeared to be going into distress from the heat. Police exhausted all options to find the owner of the vehicle within the store. After approximately 20 minutes, the owners returned to the vehicle. Both parties were informed of TCA for animal cruelty and were misdemeanor cited for the offense. East Ridge Animal Services completed a field exam on the dog to verify it was recovering from heat exposure.

Day Shift September 15: A Squad

25-009758 – 1000 BLK S Seminole Drive – Burglary Delayed – Police responded to a burglary that occurred between Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon. The resident stated he was out of town for work, returned Friday afternoon to discover an exterior door panel broken. He reported approximately $25,000 worth of tools and gear was stolen.

Night Shift September 15: C Squad

25-009772 – 6300 BLK Ringgold Road – Motor Vehicle Crash / Hit and Run – Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a Cadillac Escalade and a Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep fled the scene, but the victim was able to provide a description of the driver and a tag number. Upon further investigation, Police determined the registered owner was driving the Jeep at the time of the crash. Arrest warrants were secured on the following charges: Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Due Care.

25-009775 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Motor Vehicle Crash / Arrest – Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at this location. Based on the crash investigation, a man was taken into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Driving without a License, Financial Responsibility, Due Care, and an Open Container. Approximately twenty alcoholic beverages were in the vehicle. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-009783 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Shoplifter / Assist Other Agency – A Chattanooga Police Officer reported a shoplifter attempting to steal beer from the gas station. East Ridge Police Officers responded and detained the suspect inside the store. While investigating the incident, Police found that he had several outstanding warrants through Hamilton County to include Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Criminal Impersonation. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident. The staff declined to prosecute for the shoplifting charge.

25-009786 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – Police observed a male walking in the middle of the road and conducted a well-being check with him. He was identified and found to have a non-extradition warrant out of Florida. He stated that he was afraid of sidewalks but provided no rationale for the statement. After speaking with officers, he agreed to stay out of the roadway.

25-009780 – 1000 BLK Spring Creek Road – Suspicious Activity – A man contacted the Chattanooga Police Department and stated he had been the victim of an attempted robbery while in East Ridge. He stated the incident happened at a restaurant, then he mentioned Ridgeline Road which is in Ringgold, GA. He then stated the attempted robbery actually occurred on Spring Creek Road. He stated the suspect was a male, dressed in all black, carrying a handgun and had several other males with him. The victim stated he lost no money and could not provide any additional details for the suspects. The investigating officers were unclear on the exact time and location of alleged incident.
