Police Briefs for May 18

The following information was compiled from “pass along” reports provided by the East Ridge Police Department.

May 16 Day Shift

4320 Bennett Road (AOA):

Several female students got into a physical confrontation in the presence of the school SRO. When the combatants failed to comply with orders to cease, the SRO deployed pepper spray to control the subjects. ERPD officers were requested to help contain the incident. (22-014537)

6600 Ringgold Road (arrest):

Asael Vasquez was arrested for driving on revoked (DUI) following a traffic stop at this location. Vasquez was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. (22-006893)

1100 Spring Creek Road (child abuse):

School staff stated a student’s parent said they smelled marijuana from another parent’s vehicle at the school this morning. The parent also stated they believed the parent allowed the small child to take a drag from the vaping device. A report was filed with CPS. (22-006904) 

840 Belvoir Crest Drive (fugitive):

Aaron Smith, who resides at this address, was taken into custody by CPD on an active East Ridge warrant. Smith was then transported to a local hospital due to medical issues. (22-006905)

4214 Ringgold Road (warrant service):

Lovell Lightner was detained by HCSO on an active East Ridge warrant and arrested. (22-006915)

3618 Missionaire Avenue (theft):

The complainant left his vehicle unlocked, and his Glock 43 was stolen. (22-006919)

4322 Spriggs Street (lost property):

The complainant contacted police after discovering her TN tag had been lost or stolen during the last three months. (22-006913)

941 Spring Creek Road (narcotics):

Hospital staff and security contacted ERPD when they discovered a brown liquid in a syringe in the room of a patient. The patient in the room refused to cooperate with police or identify the substance brought in by visitors when questioned by officers. (22-006920)

Night Shift

4173 East Ridge Dr (Animal Call 22-006928):

A loose Rottweiler was located by police and turned over to Animal Services.

406 Howell Ave (Suspicious Activity 22-006930):

Residents at this address reported an unknown male and female party arrived at their home around 1400 hours and requested to retrieve a cell phone that the male party ditched in the back yard. The male party advised he was on the run from police. After he was refused access, he walked behind the property line and looked in the wooded area near McBrien Road. He was apparently unsuccessful and left the scene shortly after. The parties arrived in an unknown black 4-door vehicle. D2 on file.

1100 block S. Moore Rd (DUI 22-006946):

Mason Morris was arrested for DUI and Driving While Suspended following a traffic stop.

690o block Glen Errol Way (Mentally Disturbed 22-006927):

Police responded to a disorder with a man and his mother at his mother’s residence. The man was transported voluntarily to Joe Johnson Mental Hospital after he made statements about the matrix and being harassed by dead people.

1441 N Smith St (Auto Theft 22-006935):

Police took a report of a stolen vehicle at Holiday Inn. The vehicle is described as a 2016 Kia Sorento, silver in color, GA QAD2141, taken by a male, mid 20s, average height, slim build, with a red ballcap, white t-shirt, and jeans.

3920 Ringgold Rd (FI-22-006936):

Dollar General employees reported a suspicious male inside the store. They thought it was the same subject that robbed them last week. The subject left prior to police arriving on scene.

City of Ridgeside (FI- 22-006950):

Police were patrolling Ridgeside and observed a tan Jeep fleeing the area as they noticed police. Nothing further.
