Fire Damages House on Blocker Lane

November 20, 2022 By Contributed Article 0 Comments

No Injuries Reported

Fire damaged a house on Blocker lane on Saturday night.

According to a press release from the East Ridge Fire Department, the alarm came in just before 10 p.m. at 1313 Blocker Ln. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the house. One occupant of the home had gotten out prior to the fire department’s arrival.

ERFD Chief Mike Williams wrote in the press release that firefighters began a defensive attack outside the house before transitioning to fight the flames from the interior. The cause of the fire appears to be from a stove in the kitchen. Damages to the house were estimated at $40,000.

The press release states that a mutual aid call went out with Catoosa Engine 7, Chattanooga Engine 5 and 15, and Rosville Engine 3 assisting with the response and to cover the district.
