Police Briefs for January 12

Day Shift January 11

24-000431- 1500 BLK John Ross Road- Theft- The caller reported a theft that occurred in October 2023 where an unknown suspect took a check out of the victim’s mailbox. The check was being paid toward a bill and was dropped in the mailbox for pick up by the Postal Service. On 01/10/2024 the bank contacted the victim and stated a check had overdrawn the account by a large amount of money. A check for $2,500 was written to a person and was mobile deposited to an account.

24-000439- 900 BLK Spring Creek Road- Wellbeing Check- The caller requested police check on a patient that left the ER with an IV still attached. Officers checked the area, but the male was not located.

Night Shift January 11

24-000462 – 1400 BLK St. Thomas Street – Carjacking – The victim reported that two unknown males with a gun took her 2020 Kia Soul. The Kia was quickly spotted south bound on US 41 and crashed at the Mapco located at US 41 and Graysville Road. Suspects escaped but CID is investigating.

24-000444 – 1500 BLK S Smith Street – Noise Complaint – An anonymous caller reported excessive noise at this address. Police spoke with the resident who told police he was cleaning his truck out with the doors open and listening to the radio over the vacuum cleaner.\

24-000448 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive – Shoplifting – A female shoplifter was captured on surveillance stealing merchandise. She and her female friend were seen leaving in a Silver Nissan Rogue. The vehicle’s registered owner has a daughter who is the primary suspect currently. The case is under further investigation currently.

24-000456 – 18260 Interstate 24 WB – Broken Down Auto – A female driver hit something causing a flat on her vehicle. Police changed the tire for her.
