Police Briefs for Feb. 29

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift February 28

24-002535 – 3500 BLK Claremont Avenue – Evading – Police contacted a subject during a traffic stop. As the officer returned to his patrol vehicle he fled north on Donaldson Avenue at a high rate of speed. Warrants will be sought for evading arrest in a motor vehicle, speeding, window tint violation, registration violation, no proof of insurance and driving while suspended.

24-002527 – South Howell @ South Terrace – Arrest – Following a traffic stop at this location, a man was taken into custody for driving on revoked for DUI and speeding in a school zone.

24-002538 – 3600 BLK Wimberly Lane – Suspicious Vehicle – The homeowner observed an abandoned vehicle in his driveway. The vehicle had not been reported stolen. The homeowner was told he could have the vehicle towed if he so desired.

Night Shift

24-002568 – 3200 BLK Ringgold Road – Burglar Alarm / Open Door – Officers responded to this address following an alarm. On scene, officers discovered multiple unsecured doors. Officers cleared the buildings but found no evidence of forced entry. Officers secured any open doors and notified the responsible party of the unlocked doors.

24-002577 – Ringgold Road / I-75 NB – Traffic Stop / Arrest – Police observed a back Ford F-150 fail to obey two traffic signals and initiated a traffic stop. Upon running the information of the driver, two warrants were found, and he was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

24-002556 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Assault – Police responded to this address referencing an assault. Police are still investigating the matter and are seeking video footage before charges can be taken out.

24-002553 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive – Shoplifting – A Loss Prevention representative reported a vacuum sealer stolen by an unknown male. Police reviewed the security footage and identified the suspect and his vehicle. The suspect was also found to be a match to the vehicle owner’s pictures. Warrants will be sought after further coordination with staff.

24-002570 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Well-being Check – Officers spoke with a woman who advised she wanted a ride to the Community Kitchen. Police gave her a courtesy ride. Field interview on file.
