Police Briefs for June 27

Day Shift June 26

24-008161 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive – Shoplifting- Police responded to a reported shoplifting. An unidentified male was observed placing a firearm magazine in his waistband and leaving without paying. Warrants will be sought pending identification of the suspect.

24-008163 – 3800 BLK Ringgold Rd –Vandalism – The RP arrived around 1400 hours and found that the rear door had been tampered with since he had been there the previous day around 1500 hours. Nothing appeared to have been taken or tampered with. CID was notified but there was nothing to gather for evidence.

Night Shift June 26

24-008186 – 1300 BLK Boyd Street – Animal Call – A caller reported a very large “snake” in the driveway preventing him from exiting his vehicle. Police quickly responded, locating and removing a large belt in the driveway. The item was secured so it could no longer cause fear in the caller.

24-008171 – 5300 BLK Rose Street – Stolen Vehicle – Police were contacted by a resident of East Ridge regarding her brother not returning her tan Chevy Yukon. Police were advised by dispatch that the vehicle was involved in a crash at 0400 HRS in the city of Chattanooga. Police provided the caller with the name of the tow company used.

24-008171 – 5300 BLK Rose Street – Child Abuse – Police were contacted by CPS regarding a case of child abuse. An incident was created and provided to CPS for further criminal investigation. CPS ID – 154502714.

24-008172 – 3800 BLK Fountain Avenue – Civil Matter – A caller reported she had paid a company to fix her driveway. She stated they had started the job but had not finished it. Police asked her if there was any agreement signed saying the job would be done by a certain time. She stated no but they had given her a handwritten contract about the services. Police advised her poor work and bad craftsmanship was not a scam.

24-008179 – 900 BLK S. Seminole Drive – Civil Matter – A caller reported that after letting her friend borrow her rental car for court, she would not return it to her. She then advised her friend had gotten arrested.
