Catholic Trounces Bradley in Middle School Baseball

April 13, 2025 By Contributed Article 0 Comments

Catholic trounced Bradley, 22-2, Saturday afternoon in middle school baseball.

The win improved Catholic Baseball to 9-8 on the season. The team will play host to Boyd-Buchanan on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on the OLPH diamond.

Catholic Baseball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Caleb Grass walked, Sib Evans singled to left field, and Nick Pendergrass and Deagan Bain walked. A series of batters hit by pitch scored three runs.

Catholic piled on in the second inning, scoring eight runs on six hits. The team didn’t let up in the third, scoring six runs on three hits. Holder Donnelly had a two RBI single, while Sam Baker’s double scored two more.

Starting pitcher Noah Winland allowed one hit and two runs over one inning, striking out none and walking three. Grant threw two innings of scoreless ball for Catholic in relief. The hurler gave up two hits, striking out two and walking one.

All told, Catholic piled up 10 hits in the game. Evans provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Catholic with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Evans and Baker each collected two hits. Catholic had patience at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. For good measure, Catholic amassed 12 stolen bases in the lopsided contest, and went error free in the field.
