East Ridge defeated Signal Mountain 40-29, Friday at Shanks Field/Raymond James Stadium in a Region 3-4A contest.
The win moved the Pioneers to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in region play.
East Ridge rushed for 304 total yards, with Jeri Young accounting for 125 of those on 17 carries with four touchdowns. Mark Sessions added 80 yards on 11 totes.
Quarterback Cam Hollis was a dual threat, amassing 68 yards through the air and 63 on the ground.
Hollis found Jamari Jones for a 6-yard scoring strike sending East Ridge into the locker room at halftime with a 27-13 lead.
The Pioneers are on the verge of setting a season scoring record. East Ridge is 40 points away from eclipsing the 385 points during its legendary run in 2015. The Pioneers are averaging just over 43 points a contest.
Following a bye week, the Pioneers will travel to Hixson on Oct. 23 in a region game. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
