Boyd’s Speedway Hosts Race in Spring Nationals Three-Race Championship Weekend

Chattanooga area race fans will be converging on Boyd’s Speedway as the track is gearing up for the upcoming Spring Nationals Three-Race Championship Weekend. The weekend long event includes the final three points races for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil. Boyd’s will run their race on Friday May 27th. Then the action moves to two other North Georgia tracks where drivers will continue to race for the championship. The complete race schedule for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series three race event is below

BRASSTOWN, N.C. –  The final three points races for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil will be on Friday May 27th at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. then Saturday May 28th at Dixie (Ga.) Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. and the final points race will be Sunday May 29th at Rome (Ga.) Speedway

 On Friday Night May 27, the tour will make it’s fourth-ever appearance to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Ga. for a 40-lap $4,000-to-win event. On Saturday Night May 28 the series will visit the Swims Family owned Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. for the tour’s fourth appearance paying $4,000-to-win then on Sunday Night May 29the tour’s final points event will visit Rome Speedway in Rome, Ga. and host of the final series for the second time, which will be a 50-lap $6,000-to-win race.

 Defending series champion Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. leads the points heading into his home state while David Payne of Murphy, N.C. is second in the points, 46 points out of the lead. Shanon Buckingham of Morristown, Tenn. is third in the tour’s points while Stacy Boles of Clinton, Tenn. and Robby Moses of Maryville, Tenn. are fourth and fifth in the points respectively.

 At Boyd’s Speedway on May 27th, the pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm, the driver’s meeting is slated for 6:30 and hot laps will roll out around 7:00 pm. The Crate Late Models will also race for $1,500-to-win plus Topless Sportsman plus one other division TBA. General admission is $17.00 for adults, children 12 and under are free and adult pit passes will be $35.00 with children ages 7-12 admitted for $10.00.

 At Dixie Speedway on May 28th, the pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm, driver’s meeting slated for 6:30 pm and hot laps will roll out at7:00 pm EST. All Dixie Speedway weekly divisions will be on tap for the evening. General admission is $18.00 for adults, children ages 9-17 are $6.00 and children 8 and under are free. Tailgate admission is $25.00 with children ages 11 and under $11.00. Adult pit passes will be $35.00 with children ages 11 and under $11.00.

At Rome Speedway on May 29th, the pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm, driver’s meeting slated for 6:30 pm and hot laps will roll out at7:00 pm EST. All Dixie/Rome Speedway weekly divisions will be on the racing card for the evening. General admission is $20.00 for adults, children ages 9-17 are $6.00 and children 8 and under are free. Southern Nationals Bonus Series

On Monday Night May 30th following the three-race Spring Nationals Series swing, the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will hold an event at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC during their Sixth Annual Memorial Day Championship race paying $4,000-to-win and $400-to-start. This will make four events for the family of series during the Holiday weekend and nearly $80,000 in total prize money up for grabs.

 SPEC/TIRE RULES

The tire rule for Boyd’s, Dixie and Rome Speedway’s will be as follows: Hoosier 1350, 1600 & LM40 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. At each Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals, Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals and Southern Nationals Bonus Series event in 2016, the highest finishing CT525 engine in the main event will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing Steel Head/SPEC engine will also receive a $200 bonus.
