Catholic extended its two-season winning streak in football with a 44-14 win over Boyd-Buchanan in the first-ever contest at David Boyd Field.

The game was shortened due to inclement weather.

Catholic’s vaunted offensive line (Maverick Tucker, Ben Bambrey, Landon Cooling, Boston Eberly, Andy McGann) lead the way for the Rams’ ground game.

The Catholic running backs put up impressive numbers.  Alex Osborne amassed 200 yards rushing, scoring two touchdowns and a conversion.  Charlie Menham also scored two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion, including an exciting 65 yard kick-off return that saw Menham slip by nine would-be tacklers.  Bennett Brinson also added two scores.

River Stump caught several passes from quarterback C.J. Petrin, including a successful two-point conversion.  Christian Robinson added the final two-point conversion.  Catholic amassed 378 yards of offense.

Catholic’s starting defense was once again solid, not giving up a single first down.   Eberly, Stump, Bambrey and Tucker Berry all registered multiple tackles for loss.

“Boyd has a tradition second to none, our boys should be proud of the way they played,” stated Coach Billy Dearing.

Coach Dearing added that he’s glad  Catholic will always be a part of the trivia as to who won the first-ever contest played on the new million dollar David L. Boyd Field.

“We preach to the boys that it’s not winning or losing that matters, but playing to one’s potential – – they did that tonight,” Dearing said.

Catholic’s next game is at Silverdale Baptist Academy next Thursday, 6pm.
