Police Briefs for July 11

Auto burglaries continue to happen across the city.

According to police reports, in recent days cars have been broken into on Hibbler Circle and Tamarack Trail. Three cars were recently entered in the 1000 block of Hibbler, reports show. In all cases victims reported that there cars were unlocked. All were ransacked.

In one case the victim reported that the only thing taken was a finger nail kit. The report states that the victim in this incident told police that he believes the people responsible for the break-in were driving a white Lincoln.

Another woman told police that her purse was in the car, which contained her wallet and credit cards, but it was not taken.

In the incident on Tamarack Trail, the victim reported nothing was taken from his vehicle. The victim told police that he had noticed a number of homeless people walking in the area in recent days.

Police cannot emphasize enough that residents should lock their cars, even in the drive of their own home. Police also encourage residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles.

_ 1209 Greenslake Road: Police were dispatched to the address last week on an “unknown trouble” call. when an officer arrived he spoke with a man who said that his truck, along with a trailer loaded with landscaping equipment had been stolen while he was working. The man told the officer that he filed a report with Catoosa County concerning the incident. He also posted on social media and asked for people to keep an eye out for the truck and equipment.

According to the report, the victim told the officer he received a call that his truck and trailer were at the Greenslake Road location. When he arrived he saw the trailer unhooked from the truck and two white females in the truck. The women took off as soon as they saw him coming. The victim told police that the truck was followed by a red Ford Escort driven by a white male.

The report states that police have issued a BOLO for the vehicles. The victim took possession of his trailer and equipment.
