Police Briefs Oct. 6

October 6, 2017 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

_ 3902 Weldon Dr.: Police were dispatched to the address last week on a reported motor vehicle theft. According to a police report, Officers spoke with a man who said he woke up and went outside his house and his 2016 Harley had been stolen. The victim told police that he went to sleep the previous evening at about 10:30, as he had just finished washing the bike which was parked under his carport. He got up at 4:30 a.m and intended to load up items in his bike for an out of town trip that he planned when he noticed it was missing. The report states that the victim doesn’t believe the bike was repossessed as he is current on his payments. The bike, a black 2016 Harley Davidson Tri-Glide valued at $40,000, was entered into a law enforcement data base as stolen. A county-wide BOLO was also issued for the Harley. There is no suspect information at this time.

_ 3701 Jason Dr.: Police were dispatched to the address, recently, in regard to a burglary. According to a police report, an officer spoke with three male roommates, all students at UTC, that share the house. The victims said they left the house at 4 p.m. to attend baseball practice. They returned at 9:30 p.m. to find the front door was open. The men told police that they were sure they had locked the door and subsequently began looking through the house to determine what may be missing. The men told police that the burglar had rummaged through their belongings. One of the roommates had $310 cash missing from his dresser. A second roommate was relieved of $130 cash, while the third discovered that $350 cash was taken from his closet. The report states that the roommates have no idea who may have stolen the money, but told police that they believed the burglar used a spare key hidden under a block on the side of the house to gain access.
