City Gets Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant Award

January 8, 2018 By Dick Cook and Contributed Article 0 Comments

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation awards grants to public safety agencies to help with equipment and other needs. The East Ridge Police Department has been fortunate yet again to receive such needed funds for equipment from the Foundation.

This year’s award will fund five portable radios and related equipment, valued at $19,834.15. These radios will replace ones currently being used, which are now outdated. By replacing the outdated radios, it will ensure that all of our officers can effectively communicate with one another during a traffic stop or a wide-spread emergency.

The City of East Ridge and the East Ridge Police Department would like to personally thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their generosity in choosing our department to be honored with this grant. The City praises the Foundation for offering these grants to public safety departments across the country, in order to help offset the growing budget needs and limited funds these departments face.
