_ Police charged a Bonnie Lassie Drive man with Aggravated Domestic Assault after speaking with the victim’s daughters at Parkridge Hospital. According to an affidavit of complaint, officers were dispatched to Parkridge’s main campus regarding a delayed assault. The victim was sedated by doctors following surgery. One of the victim’s daughters told officers that her mother and her boyfriend, Marvin Danon Reed Jr., had been fighting since August 27. She told officers that she witnessed Reed strike her mother in the eye with his fist on that date. She told officers that she heard items being thrown and sporadic yelling from her mother’s room on Aug. 28. The report states that the victim was taken to Parkridge East on Aug. 29 where she was experiencing abdominal pain and was found to have bruised ribs and a black eye. At that time, the report states, the victim denied to authorities that she had been assaulted and was released on Aug. 30. The victim’s daughter told police that the room her mother shared with Reed was “in shambles” but was cleaned up by the victim on Aug. 30.

On Sept. 2, the victim was once again taken to Parkridge by ambulance. The report states the victim was taken to emergency surgery after doctors found she had broken ribs, a bruised lung and a ruptured spleen. On Sept. 3, police went to the Bonnie Lassie home and interviewed the victim’s other daughter.  The victim’s other daughter told officers that she stopped an assault by Reed on her mother on Aug. 28. She also told police that she had overheard fighting in her mother’s room on Sept. 1 and noted that the bedroom was again in disarray. Reed was found in the bedroom. The report states officers read him his Miranda rights, which he waived. Reed told police that he and his girlfriend had been fighting and admitted a physical confrontation on or about Aug. 28. He claimed her rib injuries and ruptured spleen were possibly the result of  him picking up the victim to assist her in getting to the bathroom. The report states that the victim’s injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma. Reed was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and held on $15,000 bond. Authorities said he is due in East Ridge City Court on Sept. 8.

_ 639 Camp Jordan Parkway: Officers were dispatched to America’s Best Value Inn on a domestic disorder on Saturday. According to an affidavit of complaint, when officers arrived they spoke with both the suspect and the victim. The victim, the report states, was noticeably injured. She appeared to be very frightened and was crying. The report states that the victim told officer that there had been an argument and “nothing happened.” The report states that the victim had red marks around her neck that appeared to be strangle marks, her face was puffy and she also had a cut to her right ear. Police also spoke to the person that reported the incident. The person told officers that she was in the next room and heard the disorder. She stated she could hear the victim pleading the defendant to stop, and telling him not to rip out her hair. Kenneth Davis of a Dunlap Avenue address was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault. He is due to appear in Municipal Court on October 27.

_ Police have charged a Lockhart Lane man with Aggravated Assault and Felony Reckless Endangerment after he allegedly assaulted his wife and pointed a shotgun at her and other family members last week. According to an affidavit of complaint, officers were dispatched to Lockhart Lane to a disorder with a weapon call. When officers arrived, dispatch informed them that shots had been fired. Officers spoke with a woman who told them that her niece, the victim of the alleged assault, lives next door with her husband, Christopher Todd Woods. The woman told officers that she heard a thumping on the floor of the duplex next door and went to investigate. The report states that the woman went into the duplex and found the victim pinned to the floor by Woods. The woman told officers that she then phoned Woods’ mother to tell her what was happening. The woman told officers that at this time Woods left the residence and was screaming that he wanted a divorce. The woman told police that a short time later she once again heard thumping coming from her niece’s duplex. The report states that she went next door and found her niece being held against the wall by Woods. The report states that by this time Woods’ mother and boyfriend were on the scene and were attempting to separate Woods from the victim. Woods’ mother called 911 and Woods began screaming, “I will kill you” to his wife. Woods’ mother told officers that her son then went out to the carport, retrieved a shotgun, chambered a shell and then pointed it at the victim, who was standing in the doorway with Woods’ mother and boyfriend. The boyfriend then attempted to tackle Woods and a round was fired in the air during the physical altercation, the report states. A spent shell casing was recovered from the yard of the duplex. Woods’ mother retrieved the shotgun after her boyfriend had wrestled Woods to the ground, the report states. Woods was taken to the Hamilton County Jail where he was held on a $30,000 bond. He is due in Municipal Court on Sept. 8.
