ERE Students Show Their Talents

November 20, 2015 By Matthew DeGlopper 2 Comments

On Thursday night more than 500 people filled the gymnasium of East Ridge Elementary creating a packed house for the 1st annual East Ridge Talent Tonight.

The talent show, which was sponsored by CVS and The Market Link Gift Shop, offered students a chance to shine and show off their talents.  The students had to try out to earn a place in the show and have been practicing for some time.

Robbie Waller and Dayton Hammontree introduce each act

East Ridge Elementary students Robbie Waller and Dayton Hammontree were the masters of ceremony for the event featureing 17 student acts.  These acts ranged from singing, to dance and of course magic.  The hard task of picking three stand out acts to take home trophies was left to a panel of three independent judges.

Following a short intermission for the judges to deliberate, the teachers showed off talents of their own to the joy of all the students and parents in attendance.

The event ended with the trophies being awarded to The East Ridge Divas, who performed a routine to a mashup of songs; Robbie Waller who preformed Beethoven’s Fifth on the piano; and finally the Madilissa Magic Show act featuring Joelissa Ortiz and Madison Arnold.

Tickets and other proceeds from the talent show will go to help fund the Music Program.
