Police Briefs for April 29

The following information was compiled from ERPD “pass along reports.”

April 27 Day Shift

21-005756- 1200 blk of Blocker Lane- Suspicious Noise-

The caller advised of a loud noise in the neighborhood. On arrival officers checked the area and surrounding neighborhoods with nothing out of the ordinary located.

21-005759- 5830 Ringgold Road (Pelican’s SnowBalls)- Alarm-

Police responded to check the business and found an unsecured door. The business appeared to be ok inside and the door had not been forced. A responsible was notified and the door was secured before police left the scene.

21-005764- 1905 McBrien Road- Citizen Assist-

The caller requested police assistance with traffic control while he drove his failing motorized wheelchair to his residence. On arrival police directed traffic until the caller made it home.

Night Shift

4214 Ringgold Rd. / Warrant Service (21-005803):

Michael Voelkl was taken into custody on an active warrant for an alias capias (domestic assault).

1410 Mack Smith Road / Traffic Stop (21-005796):

Sylvester Kirkwood Jr was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm following a traffic stop at this location.

3600 Gleason Drive/Drugs for resale (21-005799):

Police made a traffic stop on a vehicle at this location. During the traffic stop, Shawn Garner was arrested for possession of meth for resale.

21-005777 4214 Ringgold Road / Found Property:

Police responded to the East Ridge Police Department in reference to a found property call. Police arrived on scene and spoke to a male who told police that he had found a wallet belonging to Julius D. at a confederate cemetery in Chattanooga. Police made attempts to contact the owner with no response. The wallet was placed into property and evidence for safekeeping. Report on File.

21-005779 409 Dunlap Avenue / Unconscious Person:

Police responded to this location in reference to an unconscious person call. Police arrived on scene and located a female subject in the front yard with shallow breathing and a weak pulse. Police administered one dose of Narcan. The female was transported to an area hospital for treatment by Memorial EMS. Overdose report completed by police and report on file.

21-005797 3917 Weldon Drive / Suspicious Activity:

Police responded to 3917 Weldon drive in reference to an auto theft call. Police arrived on scene and spoke with the residents, a husband and wife, who told police that they both heard their dogs barking, and when they went to check on them, both of their cars were started, and males fled on foot from their yard. The husband told police that his wife mistakenly left the keys to both vehicles in the cup holder. He stated that when he exited the front of his home, he observed one male run from each car and get into a grey SUV he believes to be a Jeep Cherokee that fled west on Ringgold Road. The residents stated that nothing was taken from either of the vehicles. They wished to file a report to make police aware of the situation. Police have no suspects at this time. The grey jeep was last seen fleeing west on Ringgold Road from Weldon Drive, occupied by at least four males. Report on file.

21-005802 4222 Ringgold Road / Traffic Stop / Arrest:

Pedro Pascual was arrested for Driving Under the Influence 3rd offense and driving on revoked for DUI at this location following a traffic stop at this location.

5707 Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person – 21-005794 –

Staff at Dollar General reported two subjects in their dumpster area and wished to have them removed by police. Police contacted one person, Lesley Morgan-Blansit, who was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the interaction.

1900 Close Road – Unconscious Person – 21-005806 –

Police were called to a person lying unconscious in the middle of the roadway. Police contacted the female, Teresa Hicks, who was severely intoxicated. She refused medical treatment on scene and was arrested for public intoxication.
