October 26, 2021 By Contributed Article 0 Comments

A detective with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for Domestic Assault on Monday.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, on October 9, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 6800 block of Hampton Woods Circle, in Hixson, on a domestic violence call involving Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office employee Detective Richard Patterson.

On October 20, the Sheriff’s Office placed Patterson on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of a criminal investigation and an internal Sheriff’s Office investigation.

On October 25, warrants were obtained by detectives with the Sheriff’s Office charging the 46-year-old Patterson, with Domestic Assault.  On the same date, Patterson turned himself in at the Hamilton County Silverdale Detention Center.

As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
