Fire Damages Bacon Trail Apartment

A Thanksgiving day fire damaged an apartment on Bacon Trail, Thursday morning.

According to East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams, firefighters were called to 604 Bacon Trail just before 9 a.m. on a reported apartment fire. When crews arrived, fire and smoke was coming from an interior wall in apartment No. 2.

East Ridge police assisted with evacuating all occupants while firefighters extinguished the fire. Crews undertook extensive salvage and overhaul operations, Chief Williams said

.No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. The Red Cross was notified to help those displaced by the fire, officials said.
