Feb. 2 Police Briefs

Jan. 31 Day Shift

22-001095- 1523 Keeble Street- Stolen Vehicle Recovery

Chattanooga Police were at 1400 East 40th Street when they located a 2014 Ford Econoline Van which had previously been reported stolen in East Ridge under NIC#V833617584 on January 24, 2022. The owner was contacted and reported to the scene to retrieve the vehicle. Chattanooga found the vehicle abandoned and there is no further information regarding suspects. The vehicle was removed from NCIC.

22-001406- 941 Spring Creek Road- Suspicious Person

The caller advised of a male loitering outside the hospital. On scene, the male had already left the area.

22-001410- 1700 Maxwell Road- Suspicious Vehicle

The caller advised he had video of two vehicles making an exchange. On scene police spoke with the caller. He advised a black Honda sedan backed into the dead end next to his house followed by a silver Honda. The vehicles stayed for about five minutes before leaving. When the vehicles left there were items on the ground which the reporting party does not believe were present prior to the vehicle’s visit. The items in question were a black bag containing an air pump, a Lyft light for a windshield, and what appears to be a dash camera. The items were put in property for safe keeping.

22-001414- 6104 North Mack Smith Road- Suspicious Activity

The caller advised homeless people have been attempting to live in a storage shed on the property. On scene police checked the shed but no one was located.

22-001415- 1416 A Manna Lane- Disorder

The caller advised her sister, Samira Benford, stole her medication and possibly has a warrant. While en route dispatch confirmed the warrant. On scene police contacted Benford and detained her. She was transported to Silverdale. The caller was advised to file a theft report with CPD regarding the stolen medication.

22-001420- 6215 Dayton Boulevard- Warrant Service

Police were notified that Jerry Jones was on scene at Hamilton County Parole and Probation and had an active capias for violation of probation (DUI). Officers responded and took Jones into custody. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail for booking.

22-001422- 5080 South Terrace- Theft

The complainant called to report the theft of her catalytic converter. She advised she arrived at the AMC Theatre at approximately 1345 hours on 1/30/22 to see a movie and at approximately 1630 hours the same day she returned to her vehicle and noticed it was making a new noise. Today the complainant brought her vehicle to a service station and the technicians advised her the catalytic converter had been cut from the vehicle. There is no suspect information.

22-001429- 941 Spring Creek Road- Intoxicated Person

The caller advised of an intoxicated patient in the ER trying to leave. On scene police spoke with the patient. He agreed to stay in his room and receive medical treatment.

Night Shift

22-001447- Anderson Ave- Pursuit/ robbery suspects

Dispatch advised police to BOLO for robbery suspects driving a dark Nissan Sedan. Police observed a vehicle (a dark Honda Sedan) that looked similar to the BOLO vehicle involved in the robbery and a shooting suspect. The vehicle began to recklessly flee upon noticing the marked patrol car. Police gave chase. Dispatch advised that the vehicle was returned stolen out of Georgia. The pursuit ended on Vance Ave in Chattanooga. All three juvenile suspects were apprehended after a short foot pursuit. A stolen gun was recovered from one of the juvenile suspects. Upon investigating further, one of the suspects led police to an additional stolen vehicle (a black GMC Yukon) at the end of Merida Street. 

3918 Bennett Road/unknown 911

A very intoxicated woman called police and stated that she was assaulted by a man named Travis during an argument. Other residents of the house stated no one by the name of Travis had been at the home. Melissa Hughes, who was also in the house, was taken into custody on an East Ridge warrant. (22-001443)

22-001438 4008 Welworth Avenue / Disorder / Arrest

Duber Efrain Escalante Diaz was arrested for violation of an order of protection and public intoxication following an interpreter call at this address.

900 Spring Creek Road/Simple Possession (22-001450)

Daniel Turner was issued a misdemeanor citation in lieu of arrest for simple possession of MDMA.

3300 Ringgold Road/Warrant Service

Dennis Bryson was transported to the Hamilton County Jail on a Hamilton County warrant during a traffic stop at this location.

400 S. Moore Road / Arrest-Assist other Agency

Yardinca Pascual Fuentes was arrested on a Hamilton County warrant for theft of property involving merchandise after being stopped for speeding.
