On Thursday, at approximately 8:50 am, staff and students at Brainerd High School reported a disturbance involving a weapon inside a classroom. Witnesses stated that a student brandished a knife and pointed it toward another student in a threatening manner during an altercation.
A faculty member intervened and persuaded the student to surrender the knife without further incident. No injuries were reported.
The student was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, where they were charged with Carrying a Weapon on School Property and Aggravated Assault.
