Catholic Downs Grace in Middle School Baseball

April 14, 2023 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

Catholic turned back a fifth-inning rally by Grace on Thursday to prevail, 8-4, in middle school baseball.

The win improved Catholic to 4-9 on the year. The team will have a quick turnaround, as they travel to face Hunter Middle School today.

Aaron Bouchard got Catholic’s offense rolling with a two-run homer in the first inning. The team tacked on four runs in the fourth with hits by Bouchard, Henry Osborne and a double by Cale Nausley.

All told, Catholic managed 10 hits in the contest. Wayne Lyndsey went 3-for-3.

Nausley did a good job on the mound, giving up one run on six hits over two innings. He recorded a single strike out and didn’t walk a batter. Osborne led the team with eight put-outs.

Prior to the game, Catholic honored nine 8th graders on the squad, Coach Chase White said. Here’s a list of those honored: Tre Borchers, Aaron Bouchard, Parker Coode, Wayne Lindsey, Robby Monohan, Cale Nausley, Henry Osborne, Nathan Tartar, Silas Wesson.
