Catoosa County Father Charged with Shooting his Daughter

Catoosa County authorities are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to 1623 Mack Smith Rd. on a shots-fired call.

On scene, deputies contacted William Woodall, 73, inside the residence. Once inside the residence, deputies found Carrie Ann Woodall, 53, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The initial investigation revealed that Mr. Woodall admitted to shooting the victim, his daughter.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have charged Mr. Woodall with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Felony.

The investigation is continuing, the press release states. If the victim succumbs to her injuries, additional charges will be sought.
