‘Cats Claw Pioneers, 7-0

Hixson used a stiff defense to hand East Ridge a 7-0 loss, Friday at Anthony Martino Field.

Wildcat quarterback “Dae Dae” Word rushed for 70 yards and scored the games only touchdown, a one-yard plunge with 11:57 to go in the first quarter.

The loss drops East Ridge to 3-3 on the year. The Pioneers will host Notre Dame next week.

East Ridge had three turnovers and accounted for 115 total yards in the game.

The Wildcat defense held Lorenzo Stewart to 45 yards on five carries. Eric Bennett was 6 of 11 for 43 yards. Marquis Hinton had two catches for 28 yards.
