CPD’s Williams Graduates from FBI National Academy

December 17, 2025 By Contributed Article Leave a Comment

The Chattanooga Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of Captain Heather Williams from the 296th session of the FBI National Academy.

Captain Williams is one of the 254 law enforcement officers who completed the prestigious program in Quantico, Virginia. The class included members of law enforcement from 47 states, the District of Columbia, and 24 other countries, as well as, four military organizations, and two civilian organizations. Fewer than one percent of officers worldwide are accepted into this academy.

“Graduating from the FBI National Academy was both humbling and empowering, challenging me professionally and personally,” said Captain Williams. “I am deeply thankful for the opportunity and for the relationships built along the way, and I look forward to bringing those lessons back to Chattanooga to better support our officers, their families, and the community we serve.”

The FBI National Academy is internationally recognized for its academic excellence. During the intensive 11 week program, participants study advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. These classes are taught by FBI Academy instructors, special agents, and staff members holding advanced degrees.

Since its establishment in 1935, the FBI National Academy has graduated 56,688 law enforcement leaders. The program is conducted at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, the same facility where the FBI trains its new special agents and intelligence analysts.
