ERPD Investigating Attempted Bank Robbery

June 29, 2017 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

Officers with the East Ridge Police Department are looking for a woman who tried to rob a bank on Ringgold Road early Thursday afternoon.

Officials said a black woman entered the Sun Trust Bank at 4323 Ringgold Road at 12:05 p.m. The woman passed a note to a teller, apparently got scared and ran out of the bank. The woman left the area on foot, officials said.

The description of the suspect is currently giving police little to work with. Officials said the woman is described as tall with red hair.

Assistant Chief Stan Allen said investigators are currently working to get surveillance video from the bank to disseminate to the public in an effort to bring the suspect into custody.

East Ridge News Online will update this story when more information becomes available.
