FarleyCon Returning to Community Center Aug. 26

FarleyCon, The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo will be returning to East Ridge on Saturday August 26th at the East Ridge Community Center at 1517 Tombras Ave, East Ridge, TN .

Appearing at The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo is author Dan Jolley. Dan writes novels, comic books, children’s books, and video games. His work includes stories in the Devil’s Due G.I. Joe comic book line, the original YA novel trilogy Alex Unlimited, many entries in the Lerner Books series Twisted Journeys, all of the manga stories set in Erin Hunter’s Warriors universe, the Transformers video games War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, the Oculus Rift game Chronos, and the world-wide number-one-bestselling zombies-vs-parkour video game Dying Light.

Also appearing is former Marvel artist Rob E. Brown. Rob, also known as REB, an award winning illustrator and commercial artist. He has been working professionally as a commercial artist since the late 80’s and as a professional comic book artist/illustrator since the early 90’s. REB started his career in comics working in the small press, moving on to provide pen and ink for larger companies like Caliber Press and Malibu Comics. Soon, Marvel came courting him to work with such iconic characters as Conan and Iron Fist. At Marvel, he worked on a pantheon of characters including Spider-Man, Avengers, and the X-Men.Moving on from Marvel, REB began working with Chaos Comics where he continued to expand his repertoire. There, he not only created comics, he worked with musical artists such as Megadeth, Insane Clown Posse (ICP) and Dee Snider to create signature comics and album art.

Fresh off of ravaging the galaxy and now joining us at FarleyCon: The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo is actor John Anderson. He was a heavily featured Ravager in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. He was featured in Make-up Artist Magazine for his alien make-up in the movie and was one of ten Ravagers selected to attend San Diego Comic-Con for a surprise celebration during the Guardians panel (now showing on ConTV). He has also starred in Sleepy Hollow, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home, and Being Mary Jane.

Returning to FarleyCon: The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo is the amazing and talented artist Matthew Atchley.

Matthew Atchley is a celebrity / character artist well known for his detailed drawings and illustrations that span across all fandoms and different forms of pop culture including characters from popular TV, film, comics, and more. Matthew has created artwork for several actors from The Walking Dead, Daredevil, Breaking Bad, Arrow, The Flash, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who, and Napoleon Dynamite to just name a few. Matthew appears at comic conventions and special events all across the country showing and selling his artwork. His most recent shows include YamaCon, Marble City Con, Con Of Thrones and Walker Stalker Nashville. Also returning to FarleyCon: The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo from AMC’s The Walking Dead Josh “TKO” Turner. Originally from Indiana, Turner currently resides in Tennessee. Josh “TKO” has been a pro wrestler for over 13 years and is also an actor as with well-known roles on hit shows such as “Nashville” as Jolene’s Boyfriend, “Under The Dome” as The Jeter Brothers, “Lt. Joe Kenda Homicide Hunter” as Bryan Simmons. Josh “TKO” starred in the Ultimate Death Match Series films alongside Kevin Nash, Raven, and many other Wrestling Superstars. Josh “TKO” is also an official ambassador for Fighting for Autism and appears on their behalf.

FarleyCon: The East Ridge Toy and Comic Book Expo also welcomes back from as seen on AMC’s The Walking Dead Kaylie Turner. Kaylie is a young actress from Tennessee. Kaylie has had credited roles in Term Life, Lt. Joe Kenda Homicide Hunter and Snapped Killer Couples among her achievements. Kaylie was also a Child Walker in season 5 of The Walking Dead. Kaylie was also a children’s spokesgirl for Nascar The Chase 2016. She also enjoys being a cheerleader.

The vendor room at FarleyCon will be packed with comics, toys, collectibles, artist, authors, crafts and more. Tickets are $5 for adults and children 12 and under are admitted  free with a paid adult admission. Come dressed as your favorite character and join our cosplay contest. Pops for Patients will be on hand collecting Funko Pops to donate child friendly Funko POP! Figures to Children’s Hospitals. Dick Cook has lived in East Ridge since the Kennedy Administration when his parents bought a house on Marietta Street. Dick graduated from ERHS in 1976 before going on to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Political Science. Dick worked for the Chattanooga Free-Press and the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 22 years. Free-Press Sports Editor Roy Exum plucked him out of production in 1989 and gave him a job as a sports reporter. Dick covered everything from prep sports to the whitewater events on the Ocoee River for the 1996 Olympics. When Chattanooga's two paper's merged, he became the Crime Reporter covering both the Chattanooga Police and Fire Departments. He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
