Firearm Recovered at Middle Valley Elementary School

On Monday morning, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a 10-year-old had brought a firearm to Middle Valley Elementary School.

The firearm was left in a child’s backpack at aftercare over weekend and recovered this morning by a Hamilton County Department of Education School Safety Officer (SSO). The firearm was secured by the SSO and then turned over to the Sheriff’s Office.

As this incident pertains to a juvenile, no further details are available.
