Howard Ends Pioneer Playoff Hopes

October 20, 2018 By Dick Cook and Contributed Article 0 Comments

Howard bested East Ridge, 46-22,  in a Region 2- 4A game Friday night at Reggie White Field.

The loss eliminated the Pioneers (2-7, 2-3) from the post-season playoffs.

The game was filled with penalties- a combined 225 yards on 20 flags – and each team had a player ejected before it was over.

Howard rushed for 205 yards on 49 carries. On special teams, Ellis Robinson returned a Pioneer kickoff 90 yards for a score, and Jumaane Johnson recovered a fumbled snap on a punt for a touchdown.

East Ridge will try and end the season on a high note as it hosts Hixson next Friday at Raymond James Stadium.
