Lady Pioneers Edge Tyner in District Semi-Finals

East Ridge is in the title game of the District 6 A/AA Girls’ Soccer Tournament after downing Tyner, 2-1, Thursday at Camp Jordan.

Serena Smith and Anna Stanford accounted for the scoring for the Lady Pioneers, now 9-4 on the season. Emily Spiers was credited with both assists on the goals.

East Ridge had plenty of chances to score having outshot Tyner 14-4.

The finals, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Weldon Osborne Stadium in Camp Jordan, pits East Ridge against Hixson in a rematch of last year’s title game.

He was among reporters who were honored by the Associated Press for the TFP's coverage of the 2002 fog-shrouded crash on I-75 in Catoosa County, Dick and his wife, Cathy, live on Marlboro Avenue where they are seen frequently chasing around their three grandsons.
