Day Shift April 22

25-004245 – 1300 BLK St. Thomas Street – Mental Health Consumer/Improper Use of 9-1-1 – Police responded to this residence to speak with a man after he called Hamilton County Dispatch using 9-1-1 to dispute the possible exhumation of his mother’s remains. When asked who would be responsible for the remains, he advised he was the next of kin and did not authorize any such procedure. When the officer asked him who might be attempting to remove his mother from her resting place, he stated he did not know. Police asked him to stop calling 9-1-1 for non-emergency calls, especially if the person has long been deceased.

Night Shift April 22

25-004255-6400 BLK Ringgold Road-SIA/Arrest – A woman was taken into custody for the unlawful removal of registration, violations of child restraint laws, and failure to maintain financial responsibility. She was found to be the suspect in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in injuries in Catoosa County. The subject was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without any issues.

25-004267 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – A man who had reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle on the interstate was located walking on the shoulder of I-75 southbound near exit 1. The party said he was breaking up with his girlfriend and had convinced her to stop on the shoulder, and he “stepped out of the car.” The man’s sister arrived a short time later and gave her brother a ride home.

25-004268 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Backup Fire – East Ridge Fire Department personnel requested a police presence when a guest at the hotel refused entry into their hotel room after triggering the smoke alarm. The guest eventually cooperated for a fire inspection. The source was determined to be a grease spill on the room’s stovetop.
