Day Shift April 23
25-004280 – 500 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Animal Cruelty – Officers responded on report of a dog left in a hot car. On arrival, police located a large dog panting in the back of a Honda Civic with no access to water. The owner was located inside the restaurant and issued a Misdemeanor Citation for Animal Cruelty after records showed he left the dog in the car for over an hour.
25-004278-3600 BLK Ida Bella Ln- Back-up Fire – Police responded to this address on reports of a residential fire. Upon arrival, officers did not observe any flames or smoke. Police spoke with the construction worker on scene who advised that while some work he saw smoke from the area he was working on. Fire responded and took control of the scene.
No case number- 4214 Ringgold Rd.- Miscellaneous – Police spoke with a party who advised he purchased a rifle from a dealer in Colorado. The gun was sent to a store in East Ridge. The staff were unable to read the serial number on the gun due to it being manufactured in the 1930’s. Employees sent the gun back to the point of origin. The caller was advised of his next steps.
Night Shift April 23
25-004295 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder / Evading Arrest – Police responded to a Disorder involving an intoxicated female at the gas station. As police arrived on scene, the female fled at a high rate of speed in a white sedan. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but she evaded the police by driving erratically and reaching speeds of 95 mph on Southbound I-75. A few minutes later, Whitfield County Deputies located the vehicle and after a short pursuit arrested the driver on multiple charges. The driver was identified and Deputies located three small children in the vehicle. East Ridge Police have secured arrest warrants with charges of Reckless Driving, Child Endangerment, and Evading. The suspect is currently in custody at the Whitfield County Jail.
25-003716 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a man was served with a Theft of Property arrest warrant through the City of East Ridge.
25-004287 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, another man was served with a Forfeiture Capias arrest warrant through the City of East Ridge. The original charge for the capias warrant was Driving on a Revoked License.
25-004290 – 5400 BLK Ringgold Road – Well Being Check – Police responded to the report of a female kicking and punching at passing cars on Ringgold Road. Officers found a half-dressed adult female standing in the road hitting herself. It was quickly determined the female was experiencing a psychotic episode and she was transported for a mental health evaluation.
25-004291 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service – While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a woman was served with a Petition to Revoke Capias through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the capias warrant was Possession of a Controlled Substance.
25-004296 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road – Assist Medical / Mentally Disturbed – Police assisted the hospital staff with a mentally disturbed male patient. The male subject was hallucinating and screaming at people who did not exist. Officers assisted in de-escalating the irate patient and keeping him detained while medication was administered by the medical staff.
