Law and Order Feb. 17

Day Shift February 16: A Squad

26-001437 – Prater/Ringgold Rd. – Traumatic Injury – Police were dispatched to Prater and Ringgold Road. Dispatch advised a juvenile had run into a metal cable while riding his electric scooter. On arrival, the juvenile was observed bleeding from the mouth and minor scratches on his elbows. Police later found the juvenile was traveling at approximately 20mph when he contacted the wire. EMS cleared the juvenile and his family took him for treatment.

Night Shift February 16 : C Squad

26-001447 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – A caller from Florida reported a possible kidnapping at a restaurant in East Ridge. The caller stated she was on a Snapchat with a man from Ohio who claimed he was eating at the establishment. According to the reporting party, the man from Ohio refused to tell her who was at the table with him. She then assumed he was sitting with females he had abducted for human trafficking purposes. Police checked the business and found no one matching the Ohio man’s description. In addition, there were no reports of anyone being held against their will in the restaurant.

26-001449 – 6500 Block Ringgold Road – Vandalism / Arrest – A passerby reported a small SUV hit a road sign on Ringgold Road and drove away. Police checked the area and located a fluid trail leaving the area of the damaged sign. Officers followed the trail and located a damaged SUV at a hotel. The owner of the vehicle was identified and was found in a room at the motel. The man admitted to the incident, and he was issued a Misdemeanor Citation in Lieu of Arrest for Vandalism.

26-001450 – 5500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder – Police responded to a Disorder at the coin laundry. Officers found that a woman and a man had been engaged in a verbal argument. Police separated the individuals and discussed the issues. Both stated they had a rough few days which led to them arguing over laundry that evening. The couple agreed to calm down and left the business together.

26-001455 – 700 BLK Frawley Road– Disorder – The caller reported that his ex-girlfriend was creating issues and refusing to leave his apartment. Police Officers responded to the location and met with both. It was found that the ex was not a resident of the apartment and she was highly agitated. She initially refused to leave, but Police eventually talked her out of the apartment. The woman requested an Uber and left the area.

26-001456 – 3200 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Assist Other Agency / Arrest – Police Officers conducted a traffic stop with a Kia Sorento due to a broken taillight cover. The driver was found to have several warrants through the Hamilton County Sessions Court. The charges on the warrants were Possession of a Firearm with a Prior Violent Felony Conviction, Possession of a Firearm during a Dangerous Felony, Simple Possession, and Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police eventually located 3.4 grams of methamphetamine and 1.7 grams of marijuana that was hidden on his person. The subject was transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he was presented two additional charges of Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale.
