Law and Order Feb. 18

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift February 17: A Squad

26-001462-6400 BLK Ringgold Road- Traffic Stop/Arrest – Officers stopped a vehicle for a broken taillight. The passenger had an active warrant through Hamilton County Sessions Court. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

26-001461 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Mental Health – A man was taken into protective custody after calling police stating a man was threatening him with a gun. Once officers arrived on scene, he stated he lied about the firearm to get a faster police response and stated he was suicidal. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Night Shift February 17 : C Squad

The Patrol Shift conducted a traffic saturation on S Moore Road due to complaints of speeding. A total of 12 traffic stops were made with several citations issued.

26-001481 – 3400 BLK Frawley Street – Suicide Threats – A concerned mother reported her adult son was expressing suicidal thoughts. Police responded to the location and waited for the mother to coerce her son outside the house. Police then spoke with the adult male and determined he was having thoughts of self-harm. The male was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

26-001484 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop / Arrest for Other Agency – During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was found to have a warrant through the Hamilton County Sessions Court. The original charge on the warrant was Driving on a Suspended License. He was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

26-001503 – 1500 BLK Maxwell Road – Business Alarm – Patrol responded to two separate burglar alarms at the US Post Office. On the second alarm, Police met with a Post Office employee who stated they were having issues with the alarm system. A repair timeframe for the alarm was yet to be determined.
