Law and Order June 4

June 4, 2025 By Contributed Article 0 Comments

EDITOR’S NOTE: The ERPD posted this to its Facebook page on Wednesday morning: ERPD just worked the third overdose in thirty minutes. It’s not even lunch time. Please, if you or someone is battling addiction, now is the time to seek help. Thankfully bystanders called and all three were successfully saved using opiate counteragents carried by all our officers. These folks were lucky that their overdoses were interdicted quickly, and that someone cared enough to call. There will be others today that won’t be so fortunate.

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift June 3

25-005872- 5700 BLK Ringgold Road- Suspicious Vehicle – Police were dispatched to the dealership in reference to a possible explosive material inside the vehicle. Police contacted the Chattanooga EOD team and ATF to assess the scene. The EOD and ATF gave a clear after searching the car.

25-005867 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Rd – Theft – Another man contacted the East Ridge Police Department to report a theft. He stated that a FedEx package containing Visa gift cards had been delayed at the FedEx facility in Chattanooga for approximately five days before being deemed “too damaged to ship” and subsequently destroyed. He is now reporting that one of the gift cards was fraudulently used at the Walmart Neighborhood Marketplace located at the listed address. A total of $119.93 was charged in two transactions on May 8. Surveillance footage captured two females using the card. Warrants are pending positive identification of the suspects.

Night Shift June 3

25-005885 – 5400 BLK Oakdale Avenue – Theft – The victim reported $1,055 was withdrawn from her employment pay card without her authorization about two weeks ago. Police provided a theft report for the incident.

25-005890 – 1000 BLK John Ross Rd – MVC/DUI – Following a crash, a man was taken into custody for DUI, Driving on revoked for DUI. While at the jail, he denied implied consent. A warrant for the implied consent violation was sought.

25-005886 – 5600 BLK Ringgold Rd- Indecent Exposure – A juvenile reported that a male came into the store, started yelling at him, and then pulled down his pants. The male was identified. The subject was transported to Parkridge Camp Jordan due to an emergent medical issue. Warrants for indecent exposure are being sought for.

25-005889 – 1600 BLK Keeble Street – Domestic Assault – Police responded to a domestic assault between a male and female at the above address. The female stated that she and the male both slapped each other. Additionally, the female stated that the male pulled a gun on her father. The male was no longer on the scene when officers arrived. The female’s father was also no longer on the scene and refused to return to the scene to speak with the police. It was determined that the male and female engaged in mutual combat, and a primary aggressor could not be determined. Because a primary aggressor could not be determined, no charges will be sought against either party for domestic assault. Additionally, because the female’s father refused to cooperate with the investigation, no charges will be sought against the male for aggravated assault.
