Law and Order November 13

The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department.

Day Shift November 12 : B Squad

25-011830- 6400 BLK Ringgold Road- Fraud – An employee reported receiving a phone call from a party claiming to be an owner of the franchise and requesting the nightly deposit be sent to them via a Bitcoin transaction. The employee removed $2,900 from the business and took it to a machine in Chattanooga, where the funds were then wired to the “owner.” It was later found this was a fraudulent phone call and no such action had been requested by management. Later, police were again called to the business to speak with management and the employee regarding the incident.

25-011838- 1400 BLK Saint Thomas Street- Drug Overdose – Police responded to the motel for a drug overdose complaint. On scene, police deployed Narcan to an unconscious man, who then regained consciousness. He refused being transported by EMS and would not cooperate with police with providing identifiable information for the report following the incident.

25-011841 – 1000 BLK Bass Pro Drive – Suspicious Person – Police responded to the area after it was reported a male party in a red jacket with black sleeves was attempting to enter cars and asking for money. Officers checked the area and found the subject. He was identified and asked advised to vacate the area.

Night Shift November 12: D Squad

25-011856-6500 BLK Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person – Police received a call from staff stating a male had walked in through the back door after hours and demanded to see the camera footage, stating he was with law enforcement. Store employees asked to see credentials, but the male refused to provide any. The man had left the scene before the police arrived. Police stood by while the employees exited the store and made it to their vehicles safely.

25-011857-3800 BLK Ringgold Road- Suspicious Person – Police were called by the business manager because a party was behind the building where vandalism had recently occurred. Police contacted the person who said he was taking a break on the steps since he had walked from Rossville Boulevard. He departed the area and returned to his home.

25-011860 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity – A man was criminally trespassed from the above location after exhibiting bizarre behavior, bothering other customers, and ordering food he could not pay for. The business declined to prosecute.

25-011862-6700 BLK Ringgold Road- Burglar Alarm – Police responded for an interior 360-motion alarm. ERPD checked all exterior doors and windows; no signs of entry were discovered. Police observed the interior through the windows and by the security cameras displayed on a monitor viewed at the front door; no one was inside. Business appeared to be secure.

No Case #-1600 BLK Mack Smith Road-Unconscious Person – ERPD received a call for a possible unconscious person at the listed address. On scene, police located a female lying in bed, breathing but not responding. HCEMS responded to the scene and transported the female to a local hospital for treatment.
