Day Shift November 21: B Squad

25-012147 500 BLK Sharondale Drive- Residential Fire – Police responded to this residence for a report of a residential fire. Police assisted with traffic control while ERFD put out the blaze.

Night Shift November 21: D Squad

25-012177-3700 BLK Fountain Avenue- Assault – Police were called to the apartment above to a female party claiming that two females had dragged her by the hair, kicked, and punched her. The woman provided a statement to the police, and they were able to observe visible injuries to her. Officers then contacted the two suspects. One provided a false name to the police and was ultimately charged with assault, criminal impersonation, and underage consumption. The other admitted to the altercation and was able to provide the same details the victim provided of the assault. She was charged with assault due to hitting the victim and grabbing her by the hair.

25-012181-Ringgold Rd/ Mack Smith Rd-Traffic Stop/Arrest – Police stopped a vehicle at the listed location for an improper turn. Police spoke with the driver and observed an odor of marijuana emitting from his person. Probable Cause led to a search of the driver and the vehicle. ERPD located a small amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle, and the passenger claimed ownership. The passenger was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Day Shift November 22: B Squad

25-0121192- 100 BLK Margareta Lane- Arrest – Police responded to this residence for a family disorder. Following an investigation, a man was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Night Shift November 22: D Squad

25-012209-6600 BLK Ringgold Road- Traffic stop/ Arrest – Police on routine patrol observed a Cadillac make an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Ringgold Road and Camp Jordan Parkway. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Caderius Word and the passenger as Brooklyn Overton. After the police instructed Word to exit the vehicle several times, he finally complied. When he stepped from the driver’s side, he was wearing a small bag under his left arm. An officer removed the bag, feeling the outline of a firearm. The officer attempted to detain the suspect when he decided to rip away from the officer’s grasp, grab the bag with the firearm, and evade. Word ran down the embankment with a firearm in his possession. A short foot pursuit ensued, leading to the deployment of a taser. Word complied with commands as he was apprehended by officers. Upon searching of the Cadillac, officers discovered: 23 Xanax bars, 10 Oxycodone pills, 28 Grams of Fentanyl, 3.8 Grams of suspect fentanyl, 3.4 pounds of Methamphetamine, and $1110 in cash (which was seized). A Glock pistol was recovered next to Word when he was apprehended. Police charged Word with Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, Possession of Xanax with the intent to distribute, Possession of Oxycodone with the intent to distribute, and Possession of Fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Ms. Overton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and Possession of drug Paraphernalia. At the Hamilton County Jail, it was also discovered that Overton had concealed suspected Fentanyl about her person. Word was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

Day Shift November 23: B Squad

25-012217-6600 BLK Ringgold Road- Traffic Stop/ Arrest – Following a traffic stop, a man was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of cocaine and Tampering with Evidence. He also has a confirmed warrant out of Catoosa County Georgia for a felony probation violation. He was also taken into custody on two valid Catoosa County bench warrants. Both parties were transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-012220-1300 BLK Spring Creek Road-Disorder/Warrant Arrest – A man was taken into custody on an outstanding general sessions court warrant for harassment following a verbal disorder at the listed location. He was transported to jail without issue.

Night Shift November 23: D Squad

25-012235- Greens Lakes Road at Bennet Road- Traffic Stop – Police conducted a traffic stop on a van at the location above. The driver had a warrant out of Walker County, Georgia, for driving without a license. Walker County confirmed the warrant and confirmed they were willing to extradite. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-012237-3600 BLK Ringgold Road- Bolo/ Missing Person – Police were called about a male party who has a mental disability had not returned home from work. His mother stated that he is pattern-driven and rarely deviates from his route home. The mother was able to provide the police with a current plate displayed on a 2007 gray Ford Escape. Life360 was also still showing him at a grocery store in East Ridge. Catoosa County took a missing person report on him at this time. When the vehicle was searched in LPR, it hit multiple times, hitting last at the 6500 block of Ringgold Road at 2327 hours.

Day Shift November 24: A Squad

25-012253 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft – One man reported that another stole his Glock 43x after the two stayed overnight at a hotel with two females. Pending a positive identification of the suspect, the owner wished to prosecute for Theft.

Night Shift November 24: C Squad

25-012277 – 5700 BLK Roper Street– Assist Other Agency – A woman reported her boyfriend was having suicidal ideations and he was most likely somewhere in Chattanooga. During the same timeframe, Chattanooga Police Officers located a suicidal person on a bridge overlooking I-75 Northbound. The male was placed into protective custody and transported to a hospital. East Ridge Officers went to the individual’s residence and with the assistance of the caller, gathered several pieces of information required for Chattanooga’s investigation.
