To ER Alumni Members, the Students of East High & Middle Schools, and the Citizens of East Ridge,

Please understand the Attorney for Hamilton County has stated that the County Commission has “…no…” say in the title transfer of the athletic fields at ERHS.

The resolution currently before the Commission is a “courtesy” resolution and gives each Hamilton County Commissioner the opportunity to publicly acknowledge and support the Department of Education’s action to transfer the ERHS athletic fields to the City of East Ridge.  The Commission vote has no bearing on whether the transfer takes place or not.  The transfer is a done deal!!

A huge thank you goes out to;

     All the members of the Board of Education for their unanimous approval,

     Brent Lambert, East Ridge City Mayor, and all of the East Ridge City Counsel for their unanimous approval,

     David Testerman, District 8 School board member, who worked along side me on this deal for almost a year,

     Interim Superintendent Dr. Kirk Kelly for his unwavering support from the very beginning,

     Scott Miller, East Ridge City Manager, for negotiating a contract acceptable to all parties,

     and last, but certainly not least, Stump Martin, for his vision to make this dream a reality.

I say thank you again.

Most Excitedly,

Commissioner Tim Boyd
