Police Briefs for April 24

April 24, 2019 By Dick Cook 0 Comments

The following information was provided from East Ridge Police Department “pass along” reports.

April 22 – Day Shift

3218 Gleason Drive:

Police responded to apartment 40 and spoke with a resident about a phone scam. The man advised police he received a phone call from a heavily accented man claiming to be with the Social Security Administration.  The suspect attempted to get the man to provide his Social Security Number.  The resident believed the call to be a scam, so he stopped speaking with the man and called the Social Security Administration.

4222 Ringgold Road:

A call was received from the Speedway gas station regarding a female party asleep in her vehicle.  Police contacted Christine King, who was slumped over the center console.  Police were eventually able to wake Ms. King.  She was placed under arrest for public intoxication.  Ms. King later admitted to taking Xanax just prior to driving to the store for cigarettes.

1517 John Ross Road:

The resident at this address reported that her residence was burgled yesterday between 1:00 pm and 11:30 pm.  She said she believes the suspects made entry through an unsecured crawl space door.  The resident named two (2) suspects that she believes broke into her home, but there was no evidence to corroborate the allegation.  The resident said she didn’t bother reporting the burglary yesterday because she believes the East Ridge Police Department has not done enough for her in the past.

1044 Hibbler Circle:

The resident at this address advised that her landlord hired some landscapers and they stole the wrought iron shelf from her back porch.  She said they have stolen from her before, but this is the first time she has reported it.

806 McHann Drive:

The resident at this address reported that his grandson’s bicycle was stolen off his back porch over the weekend.  The bicycle is a black and red Haro brand.

April 22 – Night Shift

4401 Ringgold Road:

A man called in stating a white male attempted to cash a company check for $908.00.  Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office took a separate report earlier in the day at the same location with the same company check that was passed.

941 Spring Creek Road:

Lisa Parsons was arrested for a felony warrant out of Walker County, Georgia.  The warrant was for larceny.

6401 Ringgold Road:

Jacob Purdue was arrested for public intoxication after police observed him to be standing outside of McDonald’s in a frantic state.  Police conducted a well-being check on him and while doing so, he admitted to being high on methamphetamine.  Mr. Purdue was transported to the Hamilton County Jail to be booked.

1302 Adonna Lane:

East Ridge Fire Department personnel and EMS requested police to respond to this address regarding a possible altercation between a woman and her boyfriend.  Police spoke with the subjects involved, who were both heavily intoxicated.  It was determined that both subjects were mutually combative with one another.  The woman was transported to the hospital to seek treatment for the initial complaint called in to Hamilton County dispatch.

1417 Mack Smith Road:

Police were called regarding two (2) subjects that had parked their vehicle in the lot of the East Ridge Retirement Center and then walked over to the Budgetel.  The caller told police that they did not want the subjects parking their vehicle on the property.  Police advised the caller to tell the subjects, when seen, that they are not permitted to park at that location.

6500 Ringgold Road:

Police were dispatched to the Tip Top Mart regarding a disorder.  Only one of the involved subjects was still on scene when police arrived.  A woman said that a man in a silver Kia SUV followed her into the parking lot.  She said that he got out of his vehicle and approached her vehicle.  She said that he was yelling at her and attempted to open her car door, but she was able to keep it shut.

3725 Ringgold Road:

Daniel Livingston was arrested for DUI and Drug Paraphernalia after police observed him driving on Ringgold Road with a flat tire.  When police tried to assist Mr. Livingston with his situation he was discovered to be intoxicated and in possession of two (2) pipes, a grinder, and a scale.

3818 Kingwood Circle:

The resident reported that her Nissan Sentra was stolen on April 20th.  The vehicle information was entered into NCIC.

1417 St. Thomas Street:

Richard Collins, Jimmy Coleman, and Linda Wilson were arrested for drug paraphernalia.  Mr. Coleman was also charged with possession without a prescription.

1412 Mana Lane:

Angela Al Salami was arrested for domestic assault and interference with an emergency call after she punched her son in the mouth and then kept him from calling 911 for help.
