Police Briefs Jan. 17

_ 6642 Ringgold Rd.: On Wednesday night the East Ridge Fire Department responded to the Econo Lodge in reference to an automatic fire alarm. According to a police report, firefighters gained access to the room where the alarm was sounding and found what they believed to be narcotics inside. ERFD personnel immediately requested police respond to the scene. The report states when officers arrived they located a white, crystal substance on several pieces of furniture in the room, including the bed, tables and floor. Officers also found a medium-sized paper cup containing an unknown amount the substance that was believed to be methamphetamine. According to the report, police field-tested the substance which tested positive for meth. Police were provided information from the motel staff about who rented the room. The room was rented to a woman from Bryant, Alabama, the report states. Motel management told police that they saw the woman who rented the room and another person leaving in a red sedan prior to police arrival.

_ 5301 Ringgold Rd.: Police were called to the Walgreen’s pharmacy on Wednesday evening regarding a theft. According to a police report, officers spoke with the manager of the store who said that a black female wearing all black entered the stores and got multiple bottles f perfume and cologne. When the woman was checking out, the manager said she went to the door, back to the counter, grabbed the bag containing the merchandise and took off without paying. The report states that the suspect got into a silver Ford that was being driven by another black woman and the car fled north on McBrien Road. The suspect’s vehicle had something over the tag and the manager was unable to get the tag number. Total value of the stolen property was $863.40, the report states.

_ 1612 Castleberry Ave.: Police responded to the address on Wednesday afternoon in regard to an assault. When police arrived they spoke with a woman who lives there with several roommates. According to a police report, the woman told police that two of the roommates wanted the victim to allow them to access her WiFi account. When the victim refused to give them the information the two roommates began breaking some of the victim’s belongings. A male roommate, the victim said, flipped over the victim’s bed and broke a mirror. During this incident, the man grabbed the victim’s dog by the throat and began choking it. The victim told police that the same roommate killed one of her cats during an argument in the past. The report states that the victim said that the male roommate knocked her down to the floor. When she attempted to call police, the male roommate grabbed her phone and smashed it. The victim said the male roommate then instructed a female roommate to continue the assault. The female roommate, the victim said, then grabbed the victim by her hair and slapped her several times. The report states that the victim’s left eye and cheek were red. According to the report, the victim grabbed her dog and went across the street to a neighbor’s house where she called police. During this time, the roommates took off on foot, walking toward the state line. Police were unsuccessful in finding the suspects, the report states. Warrants will be sought for Josh Lively and Kristin Lively. The report notes that Kristin Lively also goes by the name Kristin Randolph and Kristin Worley.
